Yes, we have gotten a little rain on and off. Warm enough for comfort though.
Hey Donna, I'm sure it will be fun to have Monty at your new place! Do you have a weather shelter for him?
I'm off to the post office, TTYL
Yes, we've got a shelter for him. It's part of the adoption requirements when adopting a wild mustang. You have to have a certain size shelter 10'x10' min. & a 20'x20' corral if I remember correctly before they'll allow you to adopt. They offer training classes for horse owners as well! They even come out & inspect everything to make sure it's safe & meets all the requirements.
I got Monty when he was about 6 months old. He's around 6 yrs. old now. Boy, how time flys! I remember when we 1st got him. He was so little & full of all kind of
**** - n - vinegar. LOL! Now, after almost a year of off/on training, I can ride him - kinda. LOL! It's been awhile since I've been on him, so I'd need to really work w/ him to mellow him out & refresh his memory of his training. I think he'll like it out here, although he'll miss his regular buddy - a lone wild black stallion that comes to visit him & graze in my yard everyday. He'll make new buddies out here though. We have a couple wild herds that come through the neighborhood about once a week. They've been hanging out by the highway lately & a baby colt was struck & killed on Monday. Jimmy said it must've happened w/in 5 minutes after he avoided the herd crossing the highway. His co-worker was about 10 minutes behind him & told him about it. Poor lil' guy!
Today I'll be going through more boxes in my shed, to make room & organize for the rest of the boxes that are crammed in the horse trailer that I have yet to go through as well. LOL! I'm making progress slowly but surely!
Good morning all, it is a drizzly day on the mountain. Glad I had not planned a day of sunbathing.
My friend and neighbor, who has stage four cancer has decided to drop the chemo he has been getting for months. The effects on him have just become too opressive, keeping him feeling sick all the time. So now he will just be getting pain meds, so I guess that his life will be measured in weeks. Maybe a month or two. But, can't criticize a guy who opts for quality over quantity.
The rain has the truck looking nice and clean. My Wrangler just looks kind of muddy in spite of the new tires that look very clean.
Good Thursday morning FTE. Supposed to have showers all day here, but it currently is not raining, although there is evidence that it did rain sometime last night.

Have a great day and count your blessings.
Wow, I'm sorry Bruce! It's always hard knowing a friend is going to die & there's nothing you can do except be there for them. My thoughts & prayers go out to you, him, his family & other friends.
TGIF! I'm so ready for this week to be over. It wasn't particularly bad or nothing, just tired of going through boxes & the wind/cold weather. Bring on the heat!
This weekend is supposed to warm up nicely! Sunday were having friends over to help get Monty's corral area clean & ready for him. Then we're having a BBQ! Just thinking about the BBQ is already making me hungry. Ofcourse I haven't had breakfast yet either, so that could be why I'm hungry. LOL!
Morning Donna, Bruce! Bruce, that's just a bitch. I can understand where he's coming from. A former neighbor of ours is in the same boat. He's only 44, but the chemo and radiation are making him miserable. He's trying to decide what to do. He has a couple of little kids, and that makes it even worse.
