Jeff,
Glad to hear you're still having fun. Big thumbs up and pat on the bacl to Dano78 for offering up a lift and a helping hand.
I hope the repairs go smoothly and you're rolling along again soon.

Bobby

Well its day 3 of the leaky Mercedes trans saga we pulled it Saturday and replaced the front seal and had to make a gasket for the front cover, got it all back together and it still leaked plus now it wouldn't shift Dan sent me to the campground in his extra truck to sleep on the problem. Pulled it again yesterday and quickly found the shift problem, some idiot missed punching one hole in the gasket (me) took care of that and will pick up the needed o-ring to fix the leak this morning. Hopefully I will be back on the road today

That's great news!! That's great that Dan was able to help you get patched back up. Now get back on the road again! You're living the vacation all the rest of us dream about.

Glad to hear you got 'er done! Still, I'd almost pay cash money to see you pull it into the Mercedes dealer's shop, and watch their reaction to you lounging around their customer waiting room with a cappucino, and browsing their showroom in jeans...

Keep us posted on your trip progress!

I do that all the time when my M Class is being serviced. Jeans and a Harley T-shirt. They even call me Mr. Lavimodiere.

On the road again! Test drive went fine as did the 25 mile run to the campground as far as I can see trans is dry as a bone. If nothing else falls apart, my adventure continues

Man the water level was looowww at Hoover Dam. In the few times I crossed it I don't think I've ever seen it that low.
Great pics and beautiful scenery! Lovin it!! Keep 'em coming when you can. You'll be relieved to know Diesel is much cheaper once you hit Oregon. Our loving Governor had added a bit more tax to out diesel in Washington, but not anywhere like CA is! I think here in town Diesel was gettin about 4.30/gal. Paid 4.08/gal the other day for Unleaded. So hopefully that helps out the wallet a bit for ya. Our campgrounds are far more reasonable too, if not free in some places.

I've had that same guy working on my stuff for the past 37 years. I'm glad you're back on the road so that you (I) can continue your (my) adventure.

The adventure continues, in port Townsend WA right now, waiting on a ferry. Gonna head for the border today. have heard all of the horror stories about searches and such, just have to see how it goes.... it's not like I'm showing up with the typical rig

Good deal. My experience was that the border agents gave me a much harder time when I tried to get back into the U.S. after my vacation years ago. We got up really early and were the only vehicle on the bridge. So they may have just been bored. And that was before 9/11, etc.

I've heard that too, the USA side can be the worst. But it seems like everybody has a bad story to tell about then tearing vehicles apart during searches and leaving it up to the owner to put it back right. Sorta makes you wonder if it's worth it. But it isn't going to scare me away, I've come too far to quit now

Any firearms at all, head back now. Yeah, I've heard it all from the RV crowd, pouring out their booze, etc. They can be a snotty bunch of bastxxxs. My experience was not bad quite a few years back but I was just over the line for a day trip. Left my firearms in the MH and drove the towed.
