It is a wonder to see... People must think it's great seeing the Grand Canyon, your truck and tear drop all together.... Wonder how many families saw it that way back in the day?
I've taken mine from northern Indiana to central Ill., Chicago, central Michigan, central Indiana...but I tend to stay within 6 hours of home. I have a few grand on the clock after a few years of driving and yeah...every creek and pop still gets me to thinkin what I overlooked. In the end, I push the pedal down and it goes. I have had a few gremlins surface and worked most of em out. In the end, I wouldn't hesitate to take it cross country if I had the time and money to do so. Instead...I enjoy smaller trips.
Like some on here...I believe these old beasts have many more miles to give. The real question isn't how long can it go...it's how well did you build it?
Jeff,
Glad you made it safe to the Grand Canyon. Your timing leaving here was good, winds picked up in the afternoon. Today is approx 20 degrees colder, overcast, and spitting rain.
Dick, The old guy in the pic behind the bike with the extremely long forehead is Ross. I was lucky enough not to have my picture posted (it wasn't in the least bit flattering) Thanks again Ross
Very COOL dude!!! I love lookin at your pics. We had a ball meeting you at PF last year. It was great. FTE guys/gals are the BEST!! Please take plenty of pics for those of us that dont ever go anywhere. We have to live through the rest of you guys.

If you are going on the Al-Can highway, you must stop at Liard Hot Springs. I stopped there both going up to AK in '81 and coming back in '99. Wonderful both times. Great soaking for some tired aching muscles. You are headed for some beautiful scenery.
I hope you have some fishing gear. It's worth buying a license in Canada as well as AK because every little stream or pond usually has something in it worth catching. Grayling, Dolly Varden or Rainbows, all are fine eating.
Where in AK are you going? How much time will you have there?

The plan is to catch the ferry at prince Rupert on the way up. I'll check out the islands of the inside passage for a few weeks and then head into the interior. Should have about 6 weeks there, though not sure about where exactly. Gonna see all I can see, probably will never make it back up
Sounds like the vacation of a lifetime. I really envy you. And it's really good that you can find WiFi spots along the way to keep us posted. Keep the pics coming and be safe.
Nice Trip! I wish I could do that. Maybe if you time it right, you can go to some of the big CA truck shows on the return trip. If you go thru Sacramento, the Auto Museum is right off the 5 freeway next to the old frontier town. Very Nice! They serve up some good lunches down there. Good luck, Jag
