Well McCarthy is a bust
Spent 5 hours driving over 120 miles of the roughest gravel road I think I have ever been on. All of this to have to park and walk another 1/2 mile to get to a overpriced tourist trap.
My baby will probably never forgive me for that trip, she is already complaining with new squeaks and rattles. Might have to give her a shower in wd-40 just to quieten her down for the trip home
That's not good. Than to not have what you expected at the end is really bad. Did ya have to come back out the same way? To have to travel over that twice is like twice as bad.

Just like the kasaan road, one way in, one way out. So it was really 60 miles of bad road
Well the Kenai was a beautiful place, just a few too many folks there for me now set up in denali Nat park for a few days. Busy here too, but I guess it's tourist season
If you want to go fising on the Kenai I know a good guide that may be available. Sappah and Sons in Soldotna. You can tell him I sent you and it won't do a damn bit of good.
He doesn't know me as Grizz, he knows me as Powerless Dave.
Jeff where are you!
I could use a little vacation or at least visual relief from 100+ desert heat and views.
Maybe a peek at a peak like Denali.
Hope you are doing well and enjoying your trip.
We used to have bumper stickers there that said; "If it's tourist season why can't we shoot them?" And; "Tourist season? What's the bag limit?"
That's a good one!
Some of my favorite local ones are "Welcome to Montana! Now go home!"
and "Send more tourists, the bears are still hungry!"
Actually, this area relies a lot on tourism dollars.....but I sure hate trying to drive anywhere around here when they are on the road...
