My Ex is named the Death Star by my kids, so I'm going for that theme and your bumper/grill blackout job is gonna go great with my black Ex!
I've got a few bumper dings that came with the truck when I got it and it looks like a little bondo is on the shopping list!
Thanks for the pics and the inspiration!
Your welcome. I Had already wanted to go for the look but wasn't really sure until I saw dazz00's work then I knew It was doable. The bondo on chrome works fine, just be sure to clean it really good first and then sand out the shine. Be sure to wash it really before primer. The semi gloss works great. not too shiny and not too dull. Be sure to post pics...

I gotta say though, that look would certainly catch my attention if I saw it while I was working. Looks great man, good job!
Yes, I am an officer. I'm sure some of the haters will shun me now but whatever. Like someone else posted before, just be certain that you operate that light package in accordance with your state's vehicle code regulations. Sounds like you did your homework on it already though.

Nahh man, everyone here is pretty cool. We all share a common love for these trucks and that's basically what it's all about. I barely use them lights, not much road work lately. They just sit there and look good.

809, that was our concern early in the thread...not that PD would give you grief for no reason, but for the idiot that hates PD and decides your truck paint is a nice target for his key or worse...
X2 on bigwhitetruck01...just don't be tempted to use those lights outside of the rules and the PD won't mess with you.
There are days I wish I could just hit the switch and clear the idiots from in front of me, but I know the FD would have my rear, then hand it off to the PD for some additional chewing.

P.S., that bumper looks great!
I understand, But I hope their isn't anyone out there dumb enough to damage an officers unit. Not that mine is but you know what I mean. Plus I dont think They'll think it's a unit when they notice the car seats, sippy cups, elmo boosters and a bunch of old tools in the back.
I know what you mean about flashing idiots on the road but my switch is in a hard to reach area under the steering wheel column. Hard to hit the 2 switches. Honestly, I haven't really had the temptation to flash anyone, the sheer size and intimidation factor of the look keeps most drivers moving along. It's the speeding ponk on the highway that buzzes you doing 120 in a small foreign micro buzzer that makes you wish your light's warn't white. Some buzz by weaving thru cars like they gotta go to the potty or something. I just don't think I can deal with the excuses and the crap troopers have to go throu on the highways. It takes a special breed to deal with crazy hot footed young drivers these days. I'll leave that work to them.
Besides like you said, don't wanna go thru intake with impersonating and officer on the report. Good looking out thou.. You have a good looking Ex your self.
I wouldn't take it literally, Va's just a funny guy... I didn't really understand his sense of humor at first but then I read a bunch of his jokes and I figured him out. He's also an officer.. I wish all officers had a joke to tell when they pull someone over.. Officer: "Do you know how fast you were going there son? Driver: No not really, my gage don't work. Officer: You should visit FTE and see if someone can help you with that cluster...
