I'm anxious to hear what you think of the light output from those headlights. The ones I've seen in person looked cheeeep, and I bought some similar-design 'projector' headlights for a suburban once that could not be adjusted worth a crap....
What bulbs do they use?
Have you seen where they take the housing apart and paint all the non-reflective parts? Seen some 'blacked out' and some body-color - its kinda popular on the newer trucks...

They work and look really nice to me. About the painting them black, Eventually I will be trying it. Im gonna be going for the Harley Davidson look... Emblems are on their way.

I'm not talking about painting the 'outside' ya know...
With such small 'reflective' areas, I think this would be much more dramatic on your lights...
I know what you mean. I really don't feel comfortable putting them in the oven to soften the gasket. Trust me, I had the painting them way before I ordered them. But like I said, the oven thing is kind of risky..

It's super easy (easy bake ) I had the same reservations when doing this on my last truck. Turned out great. Just have faith in yourself, you can do it.

I agree. I did this with my 2004 F-150. I was reluctant at first and my MIL wanted to know what I was baking...she was a bit surprised when she found out it was my headlights!!! But it turned out good and I got a ton of remarks from people they liked the look...it was similar to the HD lights but a big different. Just make sure that you seal the light back. I had them on my truck from 05- this summer when I traded it in and the only issue was the reflector warped due to the heat of my HIDs on a cross country trip.

can you explain the process? Im feeling a bit more confident now... Wont the wires melt? Do you preheat the oven first? If you can give me an exact process I'll be baking this weekend...
From an earlier post in this thread here are the detailed directions for opening up your headlights and painting them. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...arley-mod.html
Be sure to send reps to brother Tylus for the writeup!
And of course post the before / after pics!
