They DO ameliorate the effects of the 405, personally suffered as recently as yesterday.

The scenery here is beautiful, but the human condition is not. Nor the animal condition. We had barely got the trailer parked when this stray dog adopted us for the day. She is terribly malnourished, even though I would bet she gets fed regularly by the campers. She is also heavy with teats. The rules say we shall not feed the stray dogs.
I'm concerned that my own dog may pick up some disease.
I googled a page that mentioned 160,000 stray Navajo dogs. Very easy to believe, because we see them everywhere we go. The horses we've seen don't look in any better condition. It costs $2 to take a picture of their horse.
