That was fine......right up to the point when the power went out at 0200 (2am)
Power ended being out for 10 hours......
Wood stove in the living room..plus a gas fired "wood" stove in the basement rec room.......this kept us warm and the water pipes safe from freezing.
I tried starting the 5.5KW Generator (gasoline) in the 5th wheel...would not start.
Then at 0915 I needed to start the Truck (F-350 6.7 diesel). The truck had been pluged in...but that did no good as the power went out at 0200. It started without any problem..........The center panel displays a message about not driving until 30 seconds has passed.
We came through fine.......some others not so good.

And here I was mad because it dropped from mid 70s to mid 40s and drizzle. Makes me appreciate how good it is!
we're getting lows of -30* c now, the coldest it's been but giving us relief from the accumulating snow and the colder temps make the roads less slippery.
It's been to damn cold here to snow for a couple weeks. Now it's warming up today
and dripping. I hope to heck it snows and don't rain. Ground is froze as is the roads.
Rain will shut it all down for most. Even studded 4X4's. But the late models do okay.
As do us old skool mid 80's and older rigged Alaskans. We stay home and drink Beer
and Egg Nogg and like that.
Merry Christmas, Stay safe and keep the shinny side up folks.
Wow I just realized that I don't have a rig with a shinny side. What is up with that?
Charlie, if only you could send the snow and the melt here to the desert. We could use it.
Boy do I wish I could send you what we have, I just ran the snow blower though the yard to bank the snow around the house for a little extra insulation. There is 2 feet of this white crap and -30*.
They are calling for temps to drop below freezing again. I cut the heaters on in the camper and the pump house. I think it will dip down again in a couple days, so I'm planning to leave them plugged in.
