Hi Roy

No we did not drive up there we flew in to Anchorage then flew to Kenai airport where my brother lived near by. Spent 2 weeks just sight seeing and fishing and hanging out together. Had a 30yd close call with a big brown bear on a windy day at the Russian river.

Skeeters were not a problem at all until we flew in to a place called Vern lake. Low land country in the shadow of Mt. McKinley, God they were bad!...had to order a fly out early

and thank goodness the satellite cell phone worked !!

Thier attitudes coupled with all the advertising on this site...makes for a frustrating time so I typically avoid it...I only pop back in when I get a PM from someone asking about towing and the Ex...you know...VALUE ADDED discussions that this site was intended for in the TRUCK forums...

Nice to see some of the gang back in this thread. Even if it has diverted from it's original topic.

On-topic, or off-topic depending on how you look at it.... I LOVED Alaska when my husband and I had our honeymoon there! It was extraordinary! Awesome sights, breathtaking views, and some of the most beautiful land I've seen in my life.

We're thinking about going back when we celebrate our 10 year anniversary here in a few years.

At no point was any thing that was done here a violation of the rules.
The term "Criminal Past" is an offense to a wonderful experience of friendship and respect.
We had and still have the ability to distribute symbols of that fellowship.
