How big of trailer do you have? Anything over 6k GW should have brakes on it, and either a 6-way or 7-way plug. Keep in mind if you go 7-way there are 2 different ways to wire them, 1 is for RV's and the other is for goosenecks.

Interesting. I wasn't aware that goosenecks were different from TT's. What is the difference? Gonna be adding a Gooseneck hitch on my truck soon so would be nice to know the difference ahead of time. Never saw anything stating they were different before.

The brake wire and 12v aux are swapped. So when you hook up the brakes are on all the time.

Nice... which begs the question...

WHY would they do that?!

sometimes it's best not to try and figure it out Guess I'll just add a 2nd 7-pin with those lines swapped for a GN!

You could just make yourself a little pigtail, or just swap the wires on the trailer (if you own it)

Well I had an adapter made for the gooseneck 7 way. It operates off the 4 way....
