That's what I was going to ask. Did you get everything he had? You should have!

I found a 2040 but it has less HP....

1976 JOHN DEERE 2040 Tractors - 40 HP to 99 HP For Sale At TractorHouse.com

Granted I could buy a smaller loader, like a 145 or something.

I think that loader is too heavy for that tractor. I may be wrong, the 2020 I have run witn a smaller loader than that struggled. My quick research shows that a 2030 is a little heavier and more powerfuul though. That grapple bucket would be good for clearing brush, but I dont know what else you would use the grapple portion of it for.

The loader on that 2040 looks a little more reasonable to me for that size machine.

Yeah I agree the 2030 loader looks a bit big, however I think that may not be so bad either lol We had an appropriately sized loader for our Oliver 1600 and I've had to weld the loader arms on it countless times over the years. We've got some pretty rocky areas (back in the 1800's the part of our farm that is one of the pastures used to be a small gravel quarry). Where we are is in the kettle moraine area so it's pretty hilly and within 1/2 mile there's gravel type land, clay type land, sandy land... If you'll be trying to dig up a road in an area that's rocky I'd go for the bigger loader even if it looks strange on the smaller frame tractor. You'll run out of traction or hydraulic power before you break it!

John Deere 2010 Tractors | WALTER IMPLEMENT, INC ODESSA, WA #U00052

Or this one:

1978 Ford 4600SU Tractors | WALTER IMPLEMENT, INC ODESSA, WA #u00152

The 2010 with no loader for 4,500 bucks....yeah....i can just buy a 120 loader....or something like that for it for cheap.

Well that John Deere in my last post....4,000 and its mine....I can do that and still have money left over. That is just perfect, it aint got a loader but I can get one of those cheap I am figuring....well critique this guys, that JD has 46 hp and a 540 PTO.

That 2030 is beautiful!

The 2010: I like it. Don't know much about them, but $4k sounds good since my dad paid as much for a Ford 2000 that is (maybe) similarly sized... Only one set of hyd hookups...and JD style too. You'll probably want an electric splitter like you saw on the back of that 2030. Can get them with 2 or 3 splits.

Might also want a quick hitch for the rear. You could make a weight box to go with the loader.

If you can, i'd stick with cast weights. Fluid is messy and causes serious rust. I hate changing tires that have fluid....

Yeah that is a good point, I think I will go with some cast weights. then a box weight for the hitch. This 2010 has only one hyd hookup and I figured I would be best with either a loader, or a blade or splitter for both....

Get a steel 55 gallon drum - stick a heavy shaft through it and then fill it with concrete. You can pick it up with a 3 point hitch. Just back up and lift

Beet juice is more common now for fluid in tires I believe. Less corrosive too.

I will be using the three pt while doing things like grading for the road thats going into my ranch. I guess I could use it when im running around with the bucket on the front end. But then again I dont know. I am just jumping into this headfirst lol. I just dont want to hit my head on the bottom of the pool...

Take a look at this one, it says it needs clutch work and it looks like a Ford Tractor:
