Its been approved for use, but the USFS still hasnt approved it, so if CalFire wants to use it they will have to pay the full bill, rather than seek reimbursement from the feds like they currently do.

I would imagine it will sit on the tarmac, or in the hanger for a very long time. As much fuel as that thing requires to fly, it would be a big hindrance in using it to fight fires. No government assistance? No use.
