Goodmorning Everyone!

Happy middle of the week.

WOOHOO! Olfthfl is almost done. I went to the mechanics yesterday & he started her up. NICE!!!!! I can't wait to see what she'll do! He has a few more things he needs to adjust on the dbl. pumper he got from his neighbor (had to get a different carb., the Carter I got from a freind was to rusted inside - might have to buy a brand new one all together). I guess it's dumping the gas all over the top of the manifold.
I had taken pictures too, but the stupid, cheapy camera batteries popped out when I pulled the camera out of my pocket to download them onto the computer. There went the pics! Damn it!!!!

What engine do you have in you 67, Olfthfl? Is it a V-8? Built? You should start a thread to share the progress. I'd enjoy the read and interaction, 'cause you know nothin' lasts forever but old Fords and stone...

Yes, it's a 390! No, it's not built. Just fixed oil & transmission leaks, & top end rebuild. Making it all purdy for car shows slowly but surely. Can't afford to build it up yet. I wish though! I want a 10 sec.or less 1/4 mile truck. (I feel the need....the need for speed!) Oh hell, just let me race John Force's funnycar!

i know for a fact a 390 in a F-100 will make it move quite well stock.
about all you need to make it scream is a 4 barrel carb, a set of headers, and maby a small cam.

Small cam? Why go small, when you can hear it roar? At least get one that has a choppy idle. That way it'll sound performancey.

i had a 68 F250 4X4 with a 390 out of a police car in it. with the 5:13 gears in the rears, the little cam in that engine with a 750 holley and headers was enough to twist driveshafts like pretzels.

i would be afraid to see what a big cam would doo. .

Hmmm, "police interceptor" maybe? Yikes, that is a screamer, I've heard...
