Well after working a bit at a parts house and receiving my discount I decided it's time to write up a grocery list of things I want to do/fix on the truck so my list is starting again...YIKES! But at least it will be for keeping one more truck on the road...
Things to do:
alternator DONE Replace serp belt DONE replace belt tensioner pulley
Oil pan and gasket and drain plug
Oil change back to 5W30 (the Ford place put 5w20 in)
Camber adjustment bushings
Alignment
Ok I just did the serp belt on my truck for the first time (yes Im happy I did it with out much fuss) and I know it may be kinda pointless to do when it will be coming right back off when the alt gets replaced but I figured I might as well do it and learn and at least have the new belt on!!
I figure when the alt comes off I only need to remove the section for the alt any ways so meh…and for anyone interested or not sure its a 15mm socket that you need to use for lifting up the tentioner
Also sorted out why sandy is eating belts every 2-3 years, replaced the tensioner with a new one.
Here is a picture of the shiny goodness installed makes me feel good knowing that i not only learned something new but did something to help keep my truck on the road longer
bought the u-joints today, for both wheels in the front, figured if I am having one done (don't have a two post lift at the house) I might as well do both...
ok, my brother came into town Monday and we went a head and bought a few more parts,
Now I have the oil pan, oil (T5 Rotela), engine flush (forget the brand but its recommended/[endorsed??] by UTI), along with new gasket and drain plug and STP oil stabilizer with Zinc additive to compliment the Rotela stuff
Next on the list will be to take a weekend and drop the old pan,, and then put the new stuff on, and then replace the alternator and have a smooth working truck!! can't wait!

well a sad but happy day has come for me, I have sold Sandy and upgraded to a slightly newer and bigger truck, going to see what all the fuss is about the newer (99) Diesels...I have "grown" into a bigger F250 and my job (delivering parts) is starting to require me delivering bigger loads then what I was comfortable carrying in the F150 with a rotting out frame that was getting too expensive to repair!!
I agree, I just figured with the frame rotting as it was and the fact it was starting to drain money out of my pocket I just needed something with more reliability (not saying it wasn't reliable) but having to replace something every other week just was not my idea of fun...
I wish I could have keept her but having this newer truck I feel is a bit better (even though it shows signs of being used hard) for what I am using it for (and it seems the bed is a tiny bit bigger)...also figured my current build thread was kinda dieing out and coming to an end
here is the mileage of the day I traded her (Day of post) 7-9-2015
