Ok got more done to the truck, this time for weather protection for cargo I may/do haul and got the topper installed, thanks to the good friends at Louisville Toppers!! (Thanks guys if you ever come across this)

Before:

After:

on a side note, I do plan to finish my wood install soon, and try to cut the rest of the trim pieces if possible, as for the topper what should I do, paint it black or match it to the color of the truck? im thinking keep it a nice black (gloss or flat) and just rattle can it, but I would like to know what you all think!!

I don't mean to offend you in any way, but I honestly don't like the look of toppers on these trucks. Bought mine with one on it and it was the first thing to go. You have a nice truck but personally I think it looked better without the topper. Just my $0.02

I'm with Minnesotafisherman on that one too. Looked better before IMO. I don't mind the color matched canopies that are the same height as the cab. But beer liked the taller ones.

well I agree but my dad did buy it, and honestly if I could have found one matched to cab hight I woulda gotten that instead, but this is what they had but hey I do have the ability to lock things in the bed now so its kinda a win either way, woulda rather my dad spend the $$$ on something like new head lamps but meh, I kinda like it, so who knows, Ill see how things go...thankfully it can be removed

as for color I decided its better to rattle can it flat black and make it look good, may do special pin striping on it tho, but yea I talked to my close friend and he says black would be best for it...

and don't worry im not offended, each person has there own opion and its allowed to voice it , gonna try to clean out the barn at parents place to store it for when I would rather not have it on (tho the sun blocking abilities it provides now are worth it lol)

It would look better painted black for sure. There are times I wish I had one (winter mostly) then stuff stays dry. I keep my eye out for a tonneau cover for mine

yea thats mainly why we got it on the truck, for the times when winter comes and it snows (thankfully not often but we do get it bad when it does) or when I know there will be times when I need to haul things and its going to rain and said item(s) are water sensitive (ie can;t get wet or its ruined type things) but mainly if i can i plan to leave it off and stored some place, and my friend even offered to do specialized pinstriping on it replacing what was there (faded white and ugly)

Well I talked to my dad and new lights are on the way for the truck so those will be put in ASAP...topper is on and now all thats left to do is find a pair of corners that are euro style and get those also...then the truck will be complete for the most part, except for maybe running boards or something like that, and window tinting...

Ok heres another update, new Headlamps finially arrived and I must say they are very nice looking, waiting for the corner set I ordered to ship and arrive before I put them in (no point in tearing down multiple times and doing more work...) so more pics of that will be coming soon I hope!!! YAY!

on another note did another minor update nothing special but after getting tired of not being able to see whats in the bed of the truck (and wacking my head a few times when I went to clean it out after dark or in lower light levels (dusk) I figured its time to start my mini LED light project...so I did, $15 later and 5 minutes later its done, well part way, now I just need to see if I can buy a second set and if they will both work off the same remote device...

here are a few pics of the light installed on and off at night, all I used was double sided tape and yes the remote is held in place using velcro, I put it on the camper top so if I remove it ever for what ever reason (say to haul larger items then the camper would normally allow) it will all stay with the shell and not get lost...anyways enjoy!!

PS: what do you guys think about the light? should I add a second one (same type) towards the rear of the camper shell as planed (on ceiling at the back end where original faulty light was located)?
