Motor Build

I've decided to build another motor to drop in my truck. I'm doing alot of things different this time being as I actually have the time to do it, instead of just 2 days. It should be real close to 600hp on spray, around 550hp on fuel. And with the cam and live tuning I'm hoping to be up a tad more on my mileage too. But I can't complain about 19-20 mpg either lol.
Motor being completely rebuilt from the bottom up with an OEM rebuild kit.

Forged rods-polished beams and match weighed to 1/4 of a gram
smith bro pushrods
Comp springs that are stiffer than 910s
Port and polished heads
Stage 1 performance cam
Reg return
Termy twins
250/100 hybrids
GQSSB-possibly S471 that I have laying around
My custom intake manifolds
ARP headstuds
Lots of nitrous.......lots
Demolished wiring harness
New intake and exhaust valves

The cam is still about 4 weeks out or so before I get it, I will go ahead and put the crank, rods and pistons in next week and get my ring gaps set. When the valves get here I'll go ahead and get the heads assembled til the cam gets here so I can finish putting it all together.

So far I have completely taken apart everything, spec'd it, cleaned it and painted it all and prepped for rebuild.

If anyone has any questions about anything, or wants pictures of certain parts of the block while I have it all apart just let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Cory, that looks really good! Digging the orange and black. I can't wait to see some dyno runs.

Is that spray painted or powder coated?

Thanks Alex, it was supposed to be red, but it looks alot more like a dark orange than anything. Its all engine enamel. Everything was primered before painting, and the aluminum stuff was all sprayed with etching primer first.

I got bored and got the motor for $300 lol.

Lookin' excellent Ziggy. Those pics could be a center spread for Diesel World.

If you are going to flip it over to put in the cam snap a couple pics of the cooling jets. Also, are you going to tack weld them so they will never fall off?

Edit: Also a pic of your custom intake plenums.

The cooling jets are already out for when I honed the cylinders. I will take some pictues wen I put them back in. I might tack the jet tube to the mount, but not tack the mount to the block. I'll just use locktite on the bolts. Everything on the motor will have time to sit and cure before its installed.
I'll get a pic of the plenums when I do the swap since they are on my truck now.

Hell yea lol, I will have it in within the next 2 months. I am really waiting on my cam 3-4 weeks out right now so right now thats pretty much the only holdback. But it'll give me plenty of time to get some miles on it before RRE

PS-This isn't going to be the only surprise for RRE-11.

I'll take some pics of the cam install. On the pictured with the bare block, do you see the round hole in the front center of the block with the bearing still in it? That is where the cam goes, Its all hidden in the other pictures by the front cover. Its really a red, but its got more of an org/red look to it. It doesn't really matter to me what company used what colors, I just wanted it to look good lol, plus a lighter color like that helps to find a leak if I was to ever have one.

I'll take lots of pics. It's not all that bad of a project to do really. You would be surprised what all you can learn by tearing one completely down and really taking the time to look at it all.
