Cory thanks. I didn't think you wanted to turn a whole of RPM'S to make that power but wasn't sure. Street able HP is whats its about to me. And I know these heads are crab. But it would take some testing to keep them good on the tork curve down low. You are very informative and I appreciate your time. That quarter point on the cam should make a difference. I can't be at RRE so please keep us posted on the final results. I would like to give it a try someday myself. Once a hobby always a hobby, old or not I still like to build things. Chet
The stage 1 works well because it quits giving a crap about drive pressure and also helps cure surge if any was present. Dyno tests only picked up 6 HP on a 38r when switching from a 1.0 to a 1.15 housing (on a truck with the stage 1 cam) when most of the time they pick up 15HP or more. EGTs are cooler as well when towing and crusing because of deeper breathing and ability to fill the cylinders with a denser air charge. When you hit the limit of the typical small exhaust wheel like on a 38r you will still see high drive pressures and high EGTs. The WOP turbos and other modded H2e style turbos will do well when teamed up with the stage 1 cam.
International designed the T444 to go in a medium duty truck and tool around at 1700 RPMs all day. They should have re-designed the camshaft for the F series in my opinion, but then again it does just fine for a stock truck at stock HP levels.
Great to see you over here Matt! thanks for sharing.

Hey Barney how goes it? Thanks, you could have yourself one too, just a day or 2 to pull the motor lol

No problem Chet, I am building this motor to still be at a pretty safe and reliable hp, have great fuel economy, plenty of power, and still be able to drive it and tow with no problems at all, and I believe that I have a great combo.
I will keep it updated at RRE isn't too far away, I will have some dyno numbers and chart after then.
ok fellas, the motor is still apart in the garage, I will put it together here in the next day or so before I have to go to work, the motor is getting swapped the 1st of may.
I will post up pics and all when I get everything together on the motor for you all.
nope not yet, I only have the crank rods and pistons in the block right now. I will be putting it all completely together in a few days so the pics will come alont shortly.
