I'm extremely happy to say that the torque converter is installed. Monday is the alignment appointment. Keep an eye out for the driving video soon. With that said any suggestions on insurance? Grundy quoted me $277.00 annually.
I am using Hagerty for my '65 and they have been awesome to work with so far. I'm somewhere between $200 and $250 I think (but I'm sure there's a lot of factors...)
Grundy charges on a set value you specify. Not sure what hagerty does.
Personally, I use Allstate. They insure my 67 mustang with full coverage to 35k without me needing to appraise it. Costs me 235-255 or something. I have zero restrictions on when and where I can drive it. 10 years ago Grundy was fussy when you drove it. They were same cost as Allstate.

Im on with progressive now. They suggest Hagerty too because they back Hagerty. Looks like they win.

Hagerty is out. They are three times more expensive than Grundy. Sucks to be penalized for being 29. My rate is significantly higher because of my age. I worked too hard to be punished for being young. Lol Hello Grundy and your 25 age limit qualifier.
I just had to deal with Grundy on a customers car. He forgot to latch his hood and it flew up and got ripped off the car. It took 3 weeks before an adjuster come out, but the guy was very generous. He looked at all out receipts for the previous build of the car, did his damage calculations, and gave us more than I had hoped for.
No matter who you talk to, you're going to have good and bad stories. We always want the cheapest insurance, but never think about how difficult it would be to get our money if anything ever happens.
Like I said before, Grundy denied me when I was 24, but their coverage was the same as Allstate, but Grundy at the time limited the use of the vehicle to weekends shows to/from garage and "occasional" use. For the same coverage and price, Allstate didn't limit the use of the vehicle. So I went with Allstate and their full coverage plan. Find a local agent and sit down with them to talk about what you're looking for. And also, each Allstate branch marks up the price a different amount. I called 3 Allstate agency's and got 3 different prices.
I've been with the same Allstate guy (agency has been sold 3 times) for 13-14 years now, it's nice to be able to call and have someone know who you are. I did a lot of business back in the day, I still have 8 vehicles insured. I'm sure that helped.
That's my experience. Call everyone up, take notes, compare offerings, call them back and use the info to get a better rate. You'll be surprised at what you can haggle out of them.
Gentlemen this has been a learning experience. If you buy a motor second hand always check it top to bottom inside and out
That bold destroyed my spark plug and that garbage caused my motor to need a new valve along with some minor machine work.
