We took a class field to trip to go see a farm when I was a kid. Don't remember what grade I was in but it was probably 2nd or 3rd, got to milk a cow as well. Thought that was the weirdest thing. lol City slicker children milking around.
we had two, OMG don't go near the pasture when we had a hot cow , upside those were better days, never sick everything was natural ,milk screened through cheesecloth to catch the heavy lumps, heck sometimes the breakfast eggs were still warm
the farm house was heated by 2 big old ben franklin wood stoves, kitchen stove was also wood and made the hot water for bathing which had to be carried to the tub . plumbing well it was outside .
