Tim, it looks like he is still wearing his winter coat.
A buddy showed up at Odell Lake this morning to go out fishing for Kokanee Salmon. This is 19 road miles from the house. My boat is tucked away safely in the barn. I've got a good excuse! I'm still medically grounded for the next 3-1/2 weeks. This fellow showed up in our Lane at 1800 last night.
common site seeing yotes out in daylight around my place, sometimes it's even coons in the dumpster during the day time ,animals hungry their going shopping
Had a yote in my suburban back yard 5 miles from downtown Big Easy. Feral cat population has diminished, raccoon, possum population un-phased. Put a critter cam in my back yard as it seems to be a critter super hwy all hours day and night, the entertainment factor is worth the expense. They all, cats, coons, possums, etc.. follow a path from the south side front, got a camera there that catches them on the way to the back and another cam that follows them around the side. Raccoons are the funniest creatures to watch.

We see the dogs out quite a bit in the daylight, but where I have the 3-cell trail camera's seems to be more along the night routes. But the Cell Trail cameras are out there just as much for 2 legged trespassers as they are for the animals. I've got several chip only camera's out, but I've gotten lazy and only check them once a month or so.
The State, Feds, ODOT and who knows who else came along and put a big game fence up along the highway with tunnels under the highway trying to avoid the vehicle Vs. animal interactions. When they did this, it changed the animal behavior patterns. Between the fence, cattle guard at the end of our driveways and the tunnels. It also adds some consternation to people riding horses and moving cattle who have to trail the fence for 1/2 mile to get to one of the tunnels.
We also seem to have acquired a portion of the Upper Deschutes and Indigo Wolf Packs and that has had a dramatic impact on what we see and when we see it. We are very remote so it's a bit of a hike to go "next" door and borrow a cup of sugar. Nothing unusual to have Bobcats on the front or back porch, elk in the front or back yard or a wolf down in the meadow. When the wolves are seen in the area, it's 2 weeks to a month before we see the elk or deer again. It's been 3 weeks now since we've seen a deer out here. And about that long since the two bobcats have been around. The elk were back a couple of days ago, but they didn't stick around. Got a trail cam pic of a Wolf laying underneath what we call the 'Lone Pine' at the edge of the meadow down by the river and that's one of the hideouts for the else. Steve, a neighbor about a mile away, had 5 wolves not long ago about half way between his place and the highway and a single along the power lines. No one in this area has any type of garbage receptacle outside an enclosed pole barn or 4 sided shed. We don't want to invite the Lions, Tigers and Bears. Plus we have no garbage service and anything you can't burn has to be hauled to a 'transfer' station a number of miles away.
Animals were still getting out on the Highway, so now the state has come by and hung trail camera's on the fences by the cattle guards.
