Yep. Evergreen Air and Space Museum I am a member at. A couple of the guys are docents and want me to joi8n them, but I'm pretty much done with Volunteer stuff. Last stint, it seemed like we volunteers spent much more time on the schedules than the paid employee's.
Big airplane… is it open to tour inside? Always wanted to check that out.
They have it open for Cargo Deck Display. For extra $$ you can get a guided tour of the flight station. For extra $$$$$ you can get a picture of yourself in the pilots seat.
Having flown a couple of times in a C5A, the size didn’t knock me off my feet. The F/E Station and other stations were pretty impressive.
When I first saw the Spruce Goose in Long Beach, I was a Flight Engineer on P3’s. It blew my mind to discover that they provided buoyancy in the wing floats by filling them with beach *****. Fuel, fire suppression, flight controls were all mind boggling.
It was really something to see the last part of its journey into Evergreen in McMinnville.
