The video says the bus driver "may have been at fault". Sounds like the cops have reservations about charging anybody.

I have seen accidents like this a thousand times. Most of the time a vehicle does have time to complete a turn, IF the other vehicle isn't speeding. I'm not saying this is what happened in your father's accident, but if I was investigating this accident it would be my initial thought based upon how a second slower and the accident could have been avoided.

Your family has to be the unluckiest family on wheels, one vehicle after another totally destroyed in accidents. The insurance company is losing money on your family policy. I seriously wonder how long it will be before they write you guys off as "accident prone".

I thought the same thing when I saw it. If your dad was going slower the bus would have had time to make it. I was only in one accident in my life and it was this same scenario, I saw his headlights but didn't realize he was speeding. Bus drivers with kids don't take big chances.

The older I get, the more risk adverse I become . Maybe thats why insurance co's treat the young drivers like .

I hope you are talking about clear conditions. I can picture your whole family sitting around in wheelchairs from car wrecks talking about "those crazy drivers" out there. It's really not funny.

actually the bus driver was ticketed and the district has already accepted fault. the news report was done the same day. the police report clearly states with 2 whiteness's that the bus turned right in front of my dad. its great you know everything about every situation from 5,000 miles away.

btw have NO surcharges on my insurance. AS NONE OF THESE WRECKS HAVE BEEN MY FAULT! how hard is that to understand?!? and OUR insurance has lost ZERO! on us. the other peoples insurance pays because they are at fault. we have not had a claim (other then glass) in years!

my dad was going 40mph in a 45mph zone just as the 2 witness's said. the bus WAS stopped PER the witness's then at the last second she decided to turn. exactly like the stupid woman that turned left in front of me in my '00 excursion. my dad purposely swerved to the left..causing him to hit the rear of the bus. to avoid the middle of the bus which. he was so concerned about any kids getting hurt he did everything he could to avoid it. she decided to turn way to late. anyone with a CDL and driving kids around should know how to freaking drive and WAIT like any remotely smart person would have.

jesus you people. might as well keep my pics, mods, adventures to myself if all your going to do is bash.

i LOVE how you guys assume you know everything about every situation. a road you've never driven on mind you with i swear some of the worst drivers there is.

and as if anyone cared. my dad has 2 broken hands which both need surgery, needs surgery on both knees (from hitting the dash), ankle issues, whiplash, chest wall injury. we're still finding more injurys every time he goes back to the doc.

i hope your father is doing better and has a quick recovery. I have enjoyed all your post and pictures of the last real frontier. I have a coworker that was in Nome for 5 years and enjoy her stories of Alaska and the wildlife and the true value of the people. About the same time you started posting your videos and pictures and it just made all her stories come true. My wife and I would like to visit your great state in the future. I know if my wife gets sick again we will be up there. Hang in there and thank you!!!!!
