Yes, that should be the right module.

Summit

Do you know if the wiring harness from Summit has the wires for the temp sender and the oil pressure unit? Thanks.

Would not think that would apply to this harness. May be mistaken.

EF, you have a sender to the gauge and a sensor for the computer. On my 1985 sender to gauge is rear passenger side, where the sensor for the computer is up front on the coolant neck. The wiring harness does have the gauge sender and not the sensor for the computer. TR

I recently picked up a Motorcraft 2100 carburetor with a 1.08 venturi size for $25 (requires a rebuild). Is it a good carb to use for a Duraspark II conversion for my 4.9 300L six?

The 2100 is a good carb, and with 1.08's it flows 287 CFM @ 3" of mercury, which is where a 1 and 2bbl carb is rated. But, that's only 203 CFM at 1.5" of mercury, which is where a 4bbl carb is rated.

This thread talks about the max carb size for the 300 six: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...er-yf-cfm.html

Thanks. I'm going to order the harness from Summit. From what your saying, I can use the wire to my temp sender which is located on the passenger side of the engine at the rear and should be able to use the wire going to the oil sender which is located on the drivers side at the rear of the engine. I guess I should be able to get rid of the coolant sensor that goes to the computer once I install the duraspark distributor and ignition module.

Through the years, I have read numerous "guestimates" of what is the flow of Carter YFs or YFAs and the general consensus is 187-215 CFM, so 287 CFM @ 3" would be an improvement in flow as compared to the stock carburetor.

It's sounds like my 1986 backfeed truck should be a plug and play with the DS2. I was curious what the "half moon" deal is, for lack of a better description, on the wire harness? Thanks, John

That is a clip that goes onto the coil. It makes it so that you can just clip it on as opposed to having to tightening down the nuts/wires onto the Pos/Neg studs on the coil.

However, you have to have a coil made specifically for it. Notice how the positive and negative studs are just prongs, instead of threaded studs with a nut.
