Member Spotlight: The 10 Baddest Excursions on FTE
It’s no secret that our members have some of the hottest Excursions on the planet!
At Ford Truck Enthusiasts we can’t get enough of Ford’s jumbo SUV lately, and we figure you can’t either. That’s why we rounded up 10 of the baddest Excursions for your consumption, and we didn’t have to travel far to find them! Mostly because there are thousands of them right here in our own forum.
Kick back, and enjoy some of the finest Excursions you’ll ever lay eyes on. Oh, and try not to drool on your keyboard!
ECA‘s 2004 FX4 is one seriously fine example of the breed. A 6″ lift, along with a set of 18″ wheels and 355x65x18 tires gives it just the right stance. Throw in some Bilstein shocks and it’s all you really need to transform a stock Excursion into one badass ride.
Then there’s scottf4444‘s idea of what a ’04 should look like. The massive Iron Bull front bumper looks right at home on the wide front end, as does the Thule cargo holder up top. We’re glad to see he actually uses this thing the way it should be used.
If a “puny” 6-8″ lift is too low for you, may be present pimt1ton‘s 2005? His ride sits a tad bit higher thanks to a 10″ lift and 40″ Toyo tires. And in case any obstacles get in his way, we’re sure those F&R Fab Four bumpers will make quick work of them.
ADREN0CHR0ME‘s ’03, affectionately named “Xombie Stomper” looks ready for any sort of potential apocalypse. He won’t have any trouble driving over the undead with an 8″ Skyjacker lift and 37″ BFG Baja tires.
Excursion fever doesn’t just exist in America. At least one Icelander has a thing for the giant ‘utes, and that man is 11secdsm. He even custom fabricated the fender flares to make room for those massive meats.
Twitchyleprechaun is another guy who isn’t satisfied with the average, run of the mill lift. So he turned his Excursion into a mini monster truck with a ridiculous 24″ lift and 46″ tires. He says it’s “fun to drive.” We believe him.
If we could build the ultimate winter driver, it would probably look something like Dubbs19s‘ Excursion. Unfortunately, he didn’t share any information regarding his sweet ride, but we can sit and stare at it regardless.
It’s pretty amazing that family xj‘s massive ’01 even fits in a grocery store parking lot space. The diesel-powered ride has tons of goodies including 8″ BDS springs, 6″ Precision Metal fab drop brackets, and 42″ tires mounted on 20″ wheels. If there’s a better way to get groceries, we’d like to hear it.
Mark Hanson picked up his Excursion from another FTE member, and unfortunately decided to rid it of the massive tires. He only “downgraded” to a set of 41″ Iroks, so we guess it’s OK. Super Swampers aren’t exactly much fun on a daily driver, anyway.
High Intention‘s ride is a great example of how a clean and simple approach works just fine. This gorgeous ride sits up plenty high thanks to a 7.5″ lift and 37″ tires. He also has one of the cleanest interiors we’ve ever seen on an Excursion. You’ll definitely want to check out his many nice photos.
