Definitely interesting, and looks like it has some power! I never figured a supercharger would be so audibly noticeable though. I'm not sure I could get used to that sound.

it deffinatley sounds different lol...but i want to hear the exhaust too to see what it changes also

True... Although, 99% of the time, you'll be hearing the sound from in the cab, not standing next to the tailpipe, so the sound in the video is how it'd sound while driving around.

Thanks!!! I am proud to let people know that I have a 300 6 in my truck. So if it does quite sound like a v8 and long as its some what close, I'm not too overly worried about it. I just don't want my truck to sound like a rice burner lol. I wanted to duel my truck mostly for looks. I think another big tip come out at a 45 on the other side would look really cool. If it kept the same sound as it is now with duels I would still be happy. (Single in duel out). Would that be possible?

I still say a single pipe would sound better. You get that "airplane" sound when you run duals on a six, even if they are just dual pipes, not dual mufflers.

It wouldn't sound BAD but I believe it would simply sound BETTER with one pipe.

This was the best setup I ever had. Sounded like a cammed V-8 down low. Once you got her revved up it sounded like a Cummins diesel. I loved it. The only problem was a big one; it was so loud in the cab it was quite litterally painfull to drive the truck.

I hope this helps buddy.
What is your set up on the first video? I like all of them but the first one sounds the best. Im not usually a fan of running the exhaust out the front of the tire but it looks good on your truck.

EFI manifolds run into a [gutted?] catalytic converter. The cat runs into a 3'' in dual 2.50'' outFlowmaster Super 44 with 3.50'' echo tips

Sweet I just about have the same set up! . I was thinking about going to supper 44. Did it make the "airplane" sound with that set up. I think I am going to do something similar to that. I don't think it would be as loud in the cab if I ran them out the back.
Would you happen to know how much louder a super 44 series compared to a 40 series in person?
Also I was told by a guy if I put a high flow cat on there then it might reduce my mpg. I'm finding that hard to believe since your reducing the restrictions in the exhaust system. What do you think?

I used to run a Flowmaster 40 series. Unfortunately my friend I cannot tell you if the 44 is louder or deeper because I ran a highflow cat with the 40 and cut it off for the 44. The 44 is supposed to sound deeper but I wouldn't spend another $80 or more just to find out. I would stick with the 40.

Your truck will be very comfortable if you run the tailpipes straight out back. It won't sound quite as good but it won't sound bad and your ears won't bleed and you won't have constant migrains.

My truck would make the airplane sound while cruising or lugging past with the duals out the back.

By replacing both old factory cats with a highflow cat you will see better fuel mileage and better power all through the powerband. I know my butt dyno told me I picked up power with the highflow cat.

Do you not have the option to eliminate your cats alltogether? Just curious, I'm not suggesting you do this.

No but I would like to see it.

Which high flow cat would you go with? And I have heard of it making the check engine light come on.

No I am in a sniffer county. I have been told after so many years that I can take the cats off. Is that true?

I used a Magnaflow but I've heard there are better highflow cats. It has to do with the number of little squares per inch. The less there are the higher it will flow. I liked the Magnaflow well enough though.

Yes, it's true for the most part, but I would check with my local laws before deleting any cats. Once your truck is 20 years old you don't have to worry so much about the cats. Again, check your local laws first! The penalty for deleting emission equipment can be extremely costly when enforced. So be carefull!

I'm not the guy to ask about highflow cats though. You'll have to do your own research on that one. Just keep in mind what I said about the honeycombs!

A high flow cat, dueled 40 series that come out the back at a 45 with a echo tip. As long as it not to loud in the cab going down the highway I'm good. If it is two loud I have a sound system that would make it seem like I don't even have an exhaust lol

Check this out. Would drone free help me out sound wise?

It looks good. Those type of mufflers always sound good but it's hard to say if it would be loud enough for your tastes. Usually these types of mufflers are quieter.

I wouldn't worry about it. Run your pipes out back and you shouldn't have any drone. Your truck is longer than mine so I'm very confident you won't have drone problems. Nothing worth noting anyhow!




Edit: I just saw where that Dynomax muffler has a flapper in it. What is that all about? What is it for? I wouldn't trust that. What if it rusts itself shut?
