Holley Sniper

Im looking to going with a holley sniper efi on my 390FE. Im going with the master kit that comes with the fuel pump. What did you guys use for the tank? Holley doesnt make one for our truck. It makes no sense cause the only hole big enough on a stock tank is for the sending unit? Im talking the rear tank towards the back...any suggestions would be great! Im wanting to do the least amount of modifications as possible!

Also...i have dual tanks, can i do an external fuel pump, and somehow plumb both tanks through the pump? I have the electric switch on the dash to switch my tanks. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated!

I have done a few of these conversions, the more concealed way is to add it in tank as I have done on a few. Its outlined here.

The better option is to do a external fuel sump on the frame.

I have seen a Fi Tech pump set up put on the top of a early bronco tank. Same pump should work for the top of our tank. No welding required, it has lock tabs to secure it. I am sure you can get a in tank drop in and set it up for an angle mount in the existing hole.

You can use that pump with the stock sender. It's not ideal, as most electric pumps are not fond of working dry. You have to keep that puppy mounted low on the frame to ensure it stays primed.

I have a 2300 kit on my 351M. Easy install, I did use their Hyperspark kit to control timing and make it a complete system. It runs great so far.

I installed Holley Sniper efi on my 460. I have dual tanks, and replaced my aft tank with a 38 gallon tank, and installed a Tanks Inc fuel pump. I then routed my midship tank to feed the aft tank using a low pressure electric fuel pump. It acts as a 19 gallon on-demand reserve. edit- the on-dash switch still changes to show the respective fuel level amounts just like before, but does not control the reserve pump, that is done with a separate switch. The set up works very well, and I am very happy with it. It's been trouble free for a few years now. I recommend purchasing from EFiSystemPro/Chris Myers. He was very helpful during installation. I have never regretted going with the excellent Holley Sniper.

I took the in cab tank out and bought a new 19 gallon rear tank from Rock Auto and used a 3 1/4” hole saw for the returnless pump set up. The Rock Auto tank looks just like the original.

Most of the original hard fuel line was retained. I put the hot wire from the fuel pump relay to the pump in a piece of black cloth loom and routed it discretely along the passenger side frame rail.

Truck looks basically unchanged from underneath.

I modified my tank to use an in-tank pump. Quiet and keeps the pump cool which helps avoid pump failure.
