On 19 Oct I was told that the dealer has the parts and yesterday I was told that the vehicle is being repaired. Any idea what the flat rate manual allows for r&r right side a camshaft and a lifter?
6 weeks and 2 days wishing I was driving something besides a Sentra.

ROTTEKATZ - Did you get the truck back? Keep us posted on the outcome...
When did for start making a sentra.....that's made by nissan...?
A little sarcasm. The Ford customer service rep told me that I should be driving a Ford and not a car of the enemy. She said that she would get that fixed; 4 weeks later I was still driving the Sentra. So, either the customer service rep lied to me or Ford makes Sentra. I didn't think that she would lie.
Picked it up today. 6 weeks and 4 days later. When I ordered it it only took 6 weeks and 6 days to take delivery and I'll bet one of those days was for dealer prep. That tells they sure can build them fast.
I also had an unexplained tapping noise in my 2011 6.2 V8...it turned out to be a broken rocker arm that took out the cam shaft. My truck was in the shop for a week waiting for a cam shaft, which Ford didn't have. We were lucky to find one at another dealer...who just happened to have six of them in stock! Who stocks six cam shafts for a brand new engine...unless they know something the rest of us don't?
The bushing in the failed rocker arm showed showed signs of severe heating, perhaps due to inadequate lubrication.
I love my 2011 F-350 Lariat, but this the first gas engine I've had in one in the last 22 years; I guess I should have stuck with the Power Strokes...they never let me down.

Good Luck
Sorry to hear.. It shouldn't have happened..
As a side note - If you get time could you relay info like -
Truck had 3505 miles on it at time of failure.
The heaviest load I tow is a 4400 lb. machine on a 7500 Lb. trailer.
No severe use, just in town and highway mostly, with occasion use in the woods on logging roads.

Hmm.. I hope that this isn't a design flaw... I got about 8K probably about 1500 very heavy pull in Texas summer heat.. Lots of dusty off road use - Maybe luck, but no issues yet...
I hope yours was a factory issue that is fixed now...
Ford told me that the information provided was correct and that there are no outstanding issues.
Given a do-over, I would wait until the 6.2L (gas) engine was time tested and there are parts in the supply chain.
My 2011, F250 popped a lifter at 3208 miles and took 6 weeks and 4 days for repair.
The dealer told me they threw in a free oil and filter change. You'd think that with a shattered lifter they would change the oil and filter to get the pieces out.

Yea... I agree....... I love Ford's but for the most part I've been treated right...Sorry I'm a redneck - I'd have hit the guy who said that crap about a free oil change (maybe for life), after month & a half or so...
I have kept up with your issue - & I'd say that you weren't treated right for spending $40-60K & having issues right out of the box...
