EFI's in and look good. Now the saving really begins for the high dollar items. Still checking ebay and craigslist just about everyday for a good deal. No real luck so far. None with enough price difference to justify used vs. new anyway.
Josiah, sounds like your 300 is coming together nicely. With the 300 parts you don't really seem to find good deals. Might as well buy new. Sometimes something shows up, also try misspellings on ebay and such.
Hey Jim, you said you had a 465 right? Does it have an electric choke? The carb I have has a manual, but the one bbl on there now is an electric choke, so it's already wired up for it. Let me know.
I'm paying attention, now that Aaron pointed me to this thread.
Yes, IIRC it has electric choke.
It is up in the barn in Monroe, in it's factory box.
But I ordered it with electric choke, not hot air.
You may need to the swap choke elements for the one you have now in order to use your wiring.
Aftermarket Holley's have 12V, 2 spade terminal, polarity sensitive.
And Ford/Motorcraft are wired for 7.5 +/- V coming from the alternator stator, with just one bullet-like connector.
It will still work but it will come off very slowly.
I will make a trip in the next couple of days if you need it.
I have an orthopedist appointment this afternoon and another MRI tomorrow.
But Middletown is not far from my brothers and I'd like to pay it forward if I can help.
Well there is certainly no rush, but I would definitely appreciate it. This has become a slower moving project than originally anticipated, but it IS still moving forward, as slowly as it may be.
I may have some parts you need, too bad for me you already have some stuff I want out of my garage, but spare parts are always nice to have, right? Anyway this is what I got: Offenhauser "C" series intake, "Power by Ford" valve cover, Holley 390 cfm, EFI manifolds; all used, and some new in box Accell ignition parts (box is beat up, parts aren't) EEC-IV coil part #140012, TFI Module #35368, cap and rotor #8230, 6 spark plugs #675, plug wires #5124B, and a catalytic converter, universal fit, I believe 3" in and out, also new in beat up box. If any of this interests you let me know, I'll shoot you some prices.
New parts picked up from a good guy in Torrington. Had a nice chat with him for a while. Invited him over to the site and chapter
Just the dizzy left! And some odds and ends
Well, the parts are coming together and the realization of the rest of it is setting in. I need to figure out where I can get an engine hoist/stand, and trying to figure out where I am going to do this. Obviously it can't be someones garage, because the truck will probably be laid up for at least a little while. Don't want to inconvenience anybody with that junk. Hmm....there is an old lady in the church with a barn, maybe she will let me use it. I will have to get a Mr. Heater for that one probably, haha!
