Holy Mac! I have missed a lot! Seems like all the answers have been questioned and all the questions have been answered. The hole saw was indeed a 1 7/8". The true duals on the inline six, definitely not the way to go. The turbo is definitely on the way after reading about the turbo'd 300 in a maverick pulling 10's!!!
I thought thid thread was dead fred....Looking awesome!!! You did a grerat job Joshua!
I'm still searching for a home for my 300. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I have a rolling chassis, maybe. I'll find out Mon. A 78 250. Guy already ground off all rust and painted it with Ryno lining typ material, apperently he has lost interest, his loss my gain I hope.
Ahh sorry for the highjack
Nice job Josh!
I like that green color that your truck was. Was that the original color? Are you going back with the original, or another color?
Green? It was actually a smoke grey metallic as stated in the paint code for the truk. I absolutely loved that color and plan to go back to it. I am not exciting at how expensive that paint job will be with the metal flake though. Sadly, the paint on the truck originally was flawless on most of the truck, but the spots that were bad were just too far gone to even think about trying to color match. Would have cost more.
Resurrecting an old thread. Why? Because I am doing more!! In the planning/researching phases of the next step. Planning on more internal mods. Looking at cams(kit), new pushrods, probably new valves, possibly double valve springs(for potential future turbo), and "new" p&p head(haven't decided on 240 or 300...currently researching). Hmm...I think that's it.
Found a pair of NOS(supposedly) fenders a guy purchased quite some time ago for his 250. Exchanged a couple emails. Gonna call him tomorrow about getting them from him. Got the number from Justin's post a while back with the guy on CL selling an OEM tailgate and passenger fender. Gonna call him tomorrow as well about trying to get just the tailgate. That will eliminate the majority of the rust that is left over. Then just have a small spot on the rear wheel arch on the passenger side, and the lower bed corner in the rear.
