Well the engine in his garage is not a "high horsepower 521." My 521 is not a "high horsepower 521" by todays standards and the components are much much better. I also dont have a single cooling issue with a similar setup. - just sayin'
If all you want is an aluminum radiator but one from any of the several suppliers given or a direct bolt in from either ebay or JBG but it will not automatically fix problems. I know for a FACT that if your engine build, tune timing and cooling SYSTEM(not just the radiator) is in good shape and properly functioning you will not having cooling issues with your engine.
most often in mechanics you dont need to look at the part giving you trouble....you need to look at the part directly before the part giving you trouble and work backwards from there.

I think what pisses me off the most is that if people want something then just come out and say it. "I want an aluminum radiator. What are some good options within my budget?" Instead they fabricate some off the wall, half arsed, little info as possible story making guys who know slightly more than "I cant put a square pin in a round hole" about mechanics want to help fix the problem instead of throwing money at a bandaid that may or may not fix anything. The other side of that coin are the idiots who chime in with their cookie cutter "Ive got this and that and I had cooling issues so you definitely need an aluminum radiator. There couldnt possibly be something wrong with your tune or timing or even a collapsed radiator hose" replies.
just throwing this out there; when stock v6's are coming factory with 300+hp, a 500hp stroker stops being high hp. it's sad but true. imagine the kind of factory numbers they could squeeze out of a docile 521 c.i. monster with today's variable cam/injector/valve timing voodoo. probably 650 hp, idle quieter than a hybrid, and get 15 mpg easy.
Look at the Caddy with 550hp. Thats about a 400ci engine and you can barely hear it run from the front of the car. If it werent for the, IMO out of place on a caddy, exhaust it would be as quiet as any other passenger car. Mid-high teens around town gas mileage and low 20s highway are pretty common also.
If you arent making 1000hp no one even perks their ears up.

larry in this case u might want to do what she says. the infection could spread to ur eye and u could very well lose it. would u rather spend anyother day at the doctors. or the rest of ur life with out a left eye ur choise.
