Yes wider is more stable but if the rims are way offset it is hard on the balljoints. Also harder fitting thru trails but that might not be an issue if the truck isnt used for that.

Wrong. Well maybe. This is the answer I got to a email about some hubs for sale on flea bay.....they will work from 86-97 but the 95-97 are different just let me know the year of the truck you need them for if you purchase include a message and thats what i will send you

I looked up the BOM number on my front axle and it comes up a 1996.5 to 1997. Anyone know WTF is the difference is between the earlier hubs and the 97 hubs?

Were any of those trucks a 97 that you tried to put a 1980 D60 hub on?

who says they are different enough not to fit? Again, my post is correct. It could be as simple as a change in the abs sensor. Doesn't mean it won't swap between other years. Do a little questioning before you challenge peoples posts

I did say maybe. And the questioning is what I am doing now. So again anybody know what the difference is with the 97 hubs?

D60 and d50 hubs are the same. No question about it. Hell you can use the spindles off of a d50 on a d60 also. My 79 d60 has d50 hubs on it because i had them and wanted to use the bigger 9/16 wheel studs.

the only difference i can think of that the 97 would be different is if it is a late production 97 F350 with the 8X170MM metric bolt pattern.

ABS differences like mentioned before was my first thought.

Are you sure about that Tom? I thought metric started with stupid duty...

Though I think I've seen you say this and challenged you on it before, I can't remember.

I have been looking into this for days metric started in 2000. In 97 they use a larger diameter rotor. Same hub bigger rotor. And what is up with this ABS ****. I thought the abs thing was on the back axle. You do know we are talking about the fronts right?

I'm aware. They started putting ABS on the fronts at some point, go research and find out when.
