The way I see it, you have your Chevy style, front to back above the axle. And you have different variations of the crossover or Ford style. It crosses over from one side to the other, so its crossover. There's just different variations of it.
draw, i guess i should have said high steer. whatever. not my truck. who cares how it steers and drives.
carlene is gonna get all pissy when she has to clean these 2 threads of the rambling bull**** we posted, and that is why i heart her, she will do it with out much yelling, for the most part
hey, at the very least, get a drop pitman arm. or you could check the tech section and get an idea of how to do crossover steering.
just sayin'.
Got one, that pic was taken while I was in the middle of it all. And I know about the crossover its on the list but I don't have a kingpin D60 so the cost is to high for that right now.
Right now I want to get past the shocks. A friend suggested to weld a bolt to the plate that is on top of the leaf spring and go up the the frame from there.
Idk, But you*should* have around 7 inches of backspacing on the front wheels to make them sit the same as the rears. I think........... I could be remembering wrong.
For shocks, Superduty fronts are much longer and will pretty much bolt in... I bought a set of 6" superduty fronts to put on my 86 as my parts guy couldn't find a listing for 6" shocks for my truck... I moved the stock shock bracket up so the bottom hole on the bracket is bolted to the top hole in the frame, my axle is ahead of stock, so the shocks are at an angle, and I still need much longer brackets.

^^^^^
that's how the shocks on my f350 were mounted. always figured it was stock, never paid too much attention to it, because the front springs barely moved. here's the best pic i have of it, looks like they did what you friend suggested and used an f250 shock bracket on the frame.

I am pretty sure it is 4" out on each side. I can go to a SRWD front hub to bring it in line with the rear but I want them out there right now. Its higher so wider is better for stability.
