I once hauled 5 tons of old concrete on my 70 F350 flatbed dump which I had from Sept 2012 to April 2016. I sold it to buy my 55 F350. I had no idea how much I had on until I got to the scales at the landfill.
It was one of those headlights mounted on a snowplow. It came with the truck. I took it off and I mounted stock style tail lights with the backup lights in them.
I find it interesting that the vehicles in Cuba look somewhat like original but there always seems to be some major rework that gives them a odd appearance. I know it's because the don't have, or at least didn't have, access to American replacement parts and had to blend in parts from vehicles from non-American vehicle. Very ingenious engineering on these old vehicles. While they do look a lot like the American origins I'd be they are closer to the non-American vehicles used for parts.
I’ve burned 5 ton of coal this year and I’ll probably run out tomorrow or Monday, so I picked up 15 bags at the hardware store. I normally buy bulk with the car hauling trailer, but it’s full with a truck on it. Dennis
Just out of curiosity Dennis, how long will a bag last? I burn wood pellets that come in 40# bags, and a bag will last two days with outside temps in high 30's.
I have a hand fired Burnham boiler that we got into the basement before the walls were laid up. When it was below 0 this winter I bet I was burning close to 150 lbs a day. It’s probably not very efficient, but I like it. It was built pre 1940 because it says Irvington NY on the door. Burnham moved to Lancaster PA in 1940. 4 years ago I was able to get new grates for it. I burned firewood for 36 years. I don’t miss that.
Not a big working truck but it's working. Came across this while looking for a color to paint my roadster. Hard to find colors of old skool hot rods that aren't black. Love this picture
