Like the title says Welcome aboard, IOWA!!!!!! My friend out in Iowa.
Dave & I have become friends via a couple of the Mustang sites that we frequent-www.hipomustang.com & vintagemustang.com he is building a 1965 K code (289 High Performance) Fastback, and I had a rebuilt/restored correct 9" rear end assembly to fit his needs, then I found out that he has a S/D with a 7.3 so I invited him to join us here!!! 'nuff said.
Dave, you should check out Mustangsandmore.com. M&M is a lot like FTE, and the racing forum over there, with Alex and the boys, is better than anything you can find at Vintage Mustang!
He has said to me that his truck is cold-blooded after it sits all night (I guess) my first suggestion was to change to synthetic oil........
A few things I would do is replace all the glow plugs, put in a new GPR, and yes, switch to synthetic oil. I switched to 5w-40 this past winter, it has never started so well. It'll pop off so much quicker and run like it's warmed up, whereas it used to chug and smoke till things got turned over a few times.
I may come out and visit my youngest brother, he is moving to Waukee at the end of July
He works for Nationwide INS
I would love to meet some FORD SD owners!!
hi again
it's been awhile
i'll be taking a trip to the east coast in a couple of weeks
some of the yellow lites that are just above the running boards are out.
where is the best place to get new ones?
thanks
iowa
Dave, I can't quite see the lights well enough to tell what type they are, are they LED or possibly have a replaceable bulb?? (I don't think those are factory installed....
How about your cold-starts...changed your oil to synthetic yet? I highly recomend Shell Rotella SYNTHETIC 5W40 and a Motorcraft FL-1995 filter to start with...-Rick
