Those are something that someone installed themselves, can't say I've seen anything from the factory with lights above the running boards. As said as it sounds, walmart has a descent selection of lights. Otherwise looking for a truck shop, or a farm & home store, Theisen's, Blains, etc.
If you ever get east of Iowa City on I-80 there is the largest truck stop in the nation, maybe world, at Walcott called Iowa 80. They have a very large selection of lights and much, much other stuff. Most of it is for semis but some fits pickups. Plan to spend some time there as there is a lot to look at.
i recently took a trip to Boston and back pulling a 20ft trailer,
3,143 miles!
the old diesel never missed a beat!!
worried a little when i drove thru N.Y. City, but no problems.
had to worry about weather but was very careful.
it was very cold, in fact was 5F when i left boston!
i was impressed how easily this truck pulled the hills in overdrive!!
i was hauling two Piper Cub airplane wings,
so was basically pulling an empty trailer.

Good stuff Dave!! glad you had a safe trip!! have you changed to synthetic oil yet? how is it starting now? how about fuel filter? how long since IT has been changed? do you use any type of fuel additive for extra lubrication? (you should)
Interesting how the Hipo site & the FTE site are "Linked" now!! very cool!!-Rick
i use Rotella 5-40
and no fuel additives
it has 77,060 miles on it now!
it has only one problem
and that is the tendency to suddenly just die!
it happens about every 5K miles
and happened the day before i left for boston (i was worried)
i thot it was the cam sensor
but had this looked at per the recall.
when it happens, i just pull to the side of the road,
shut everything off, wait a couple of minutes
and then it starts right up!!
anyone here have this happen to them?
and what to do about it?
also it still doesn't like to start when the Temp is below 40F!
Dave, I'd have the glow plugs and relays checked next, that might be your problem on the cold starting.
It was believe it or not 24 here yesterday morning and mine started right up.
On the CPS: Did Ford replace it for you? If so and it wasn't doing the stalling thing before it may be a bar GRAY CPS-alot of folks have had bad experiances with the GRAY one-I personally have not had any trouble since Ford replaced mine, but if I had it to do again, I would not have given up my original BLACK one.-Rick
Mine started yesterday @ -1F. Rotella Dino, and not plugged into heat, I turned the key on for 1 minute, then again for 45 sec. It turned over a few times longer than normal, but then fired off. Wasn't pretty, but it started. Jim
i have never tried leaving the ignition on
for longer than the 'start' lite goes off...maybe i'll try this
or, the previous owner told me to 'cycle' it a few times
ie turn key on let lite go off, turn off, turn on, let lite go off etc.
a few times and then start it.
Iowa 7.3: At the beginning of the forum, there is a sticky on hard starts. Read up on those and maybe you will find something that will help. Lots of info in there. Jim

iowa, no reason to cycle the key, the glow plugs will stay on after the WTS light goes out...you can actually install a LED light to the relay so you know how long the relay is active....Easy 30+ seconds after the WTS light goes out, depending on how cold it is...
Also, waiting until after the glow plugs are no longer being energized sends more amps to the starter which spins it faster. I find that I can hear the relay disengage if everything is quiet (blower off, etc.), but an LED makes it easy.
