Yes. I have e99 cc lb 4x4 and had the early sc computor tuner installed and it messed with my trans. They replaced it with the chip. It lasted 6 months and I had to take it out. I now have the DP tuner with 9 tunes and love it. Know more problems. Was your chip just loose, thats what it sounds like. Mine just went out, no restarts or anything.
Dave, Long time..........Some guys here report having problems with even the Diablo Sport tuners, something about the actual plug in that gets dirty or something, I have no chip in mine, Ford replaced my cam sensor under the recall at n/c-wasn't having any problems before and none since, but I do have 2 spare cps in my glove box just in case-"most" of the crowd here have done performance mods to their truck/engine including the chips........I don't feel the need for my BIG CC Dually to stand up on the rear tires but thats me......from where I come from (the old school) Diesels were made for torque for carrying and pulling large loads not for speed, thats what mine is anyway...

since i had the superchip removed
and 'another' cam sensor installed
i have enjoyed over 1000+ problem free miles!!
the truck now just seems to run better!!
in short,
a new
glow plug relay
cam sensor
and removal of the chip
have made my truck run great
kinda miss the rocket powered sound on take off
but can live with this trade off.
still starting and running great w/o the superchip!!

sometimes when i turn off the ignition and leave the key in
i can still hear the alarm when i close the door
and if it continues and won't turn off
i have to take the key out of the ignition.
most of the time it is fine
but it does this on occasion (even tho ign is in proper shut off postition)
what to do?

the exterior lite will also stay on.
Sounds like the door ajar switches are not working properly. Try liberally spraying the actuating guides with penetrating oil and working the doors open and closed a few times.
i forgot to mention that the swith is
not quite as smooth as before
it has a mild ratcheting motion
like it gets caught up when turing it
suppose things are just wearing out some
also, the front wheel bearings are howling some
are they very hard to change out?
