I read the news online last night and they said the police were looking for some teens as possible arsonists. They were seen running away from the area as the fire started. If they did start the fire I hope they are caught. Even though most of us know that most wild fires are started by lightning strikes.

I know what you mean about rain. I'm on Long Island, so all in all, we don't have the horrible flooding Upstate NY, NJ and other NE areas did, but Irene and now torrential downpours the past few days... man.

Makes me glad I have my Superduty - I had to go through about 2.5 feet of water on an on-ramp this morning...

However, that is NOTHING compared to what happened to itsnotanova...

Bump side, 70 Ford Torino GT and 69 Charger are the first three pics, Both cars were in beautiful condition. 1600+ homes burnt to the ground during that fire and it seems like as many classic vehicles went to the scrap yard too.
Update; We moved into our new house two months ago and now I have a shop to get out of the weather when working on my toys. I've already got two new projects, a 67 F100 & 72 F100 4x4. The 4x4 is getting lots of parts that went through the fire , but after getting rebuilt, can be used again(engine, transfer cases & axles) The 67 is to be determined. I'm leaning toward something with a modern drive train and CV front suspension..

Great to hear your back on your feet! Nothing like an enclosure to keep one warm and working on projects regardless the weather. Good Luck!!!

I'm in the process of getting my rebuilders license. Then I will be able to buy vehicles from insurance auctions and I've been drooling over a few wrecked Cobras or GT500s that went on the auction block. I wouldn't mind another V10, especially a 3 valve, but not too many of them are getting totaled with low miles. If I do find another V10, I'm hoping something like this

I was looking into a rebuilders license here in Oklahoma and it seems like a pain to get, because you have to get a dealers license and a $15,000 bond and prove you have a place to sufficient enough to sell vehicles as well as sufficient garage space (I have more than enough of both, 40x80 shop)

I just want to buy and fix a few on the side for some extra money, not start a full blown used car dealership lol

I was just thinking about this project the other day. I come to check it out after a year (or so?) and find this. I am very sorry for your loss. I'm glad nobody was physically hurt.

Here in Texas, you can get a rebuilders license and not have to get the dealers license too if you only buy 5 and sell 3 salvaged vehicles a year. It's perfect for me because I'm after the drivetrains more than the vehicles themselves. I also want to get some to fix up and give to close relatives along with flipping some for extra money to support my addiction.

Thanks 6cylBill
