Good Luck, Aaron. Happy weekending fellow truckers. I'm off the supply house to pick up some things for the baby's room, so I can finish that up today. The wife will be happy.
I am not complaining about my truck by any means. I am blessed to have what I have, and that it runs pretty well for the most part and gets me where I need to go. Well men, I am off to get a delicious breakfast sandwich at patty cake's bakery. Have a good weekend. Good luck with the truck Aaron, let me know how it goes with the "hoity-toity" truck. Not sure how a 7.3 diesel at any point can be called hoity-toity. Low miles, clean truck...it's gonna have a price. Let me just say that paying a little extra to save you the hassle of repairs in the near future is worth it to me. Why spend money on problems.
Edit: Not to say that higher priced trucks won't have just as many, and possibly more, problems.
That video gave me a flash-back to on-track. Granted I never flipped over but the whole head snapping around thing is right on... makes my neck hurt just thinking about it.
so i looked at the truck in MA, it was pretty nice. it had the typical mass rot setting inn but the body was actually really good, except one cab corner that was starting to bubble and the tailgate. the front diff cover was about to rot through, the oil pan had been epoxy'd already, the brake line to the rear was replaced and the others werent great but not in dire need of replacement yet. overall the truck was great, with a little more rust than i was looking to get into but the low miles was a good trade for a little rust that was still fixable.
went in to talk money, and got the BS stereotypical used car sales guy attitude, lies, insults. "if the truck is still here on monday the price goes up to 17,000, but i dont think it will be because i have people from all over the country coming to look at it". he really wouldnt even let me talk, kept interrupting and got real aggravating real quick. i offered 14500 to see where it would go from there, if he came down from 16 to 15500 i would have bought it but he was not interested at all in lowering his price so we said thanks and walked out.
KBB value in excellent condition is 16,000 and the truck is NOT excellent with a totally rotted tailgate and bubbles starting, and a not so clean interior. i am going to watch his website and if in 2 weeks the truck is still there, and im still looking i will give him a call and see if he is ready to negotiate
