What I'm gonna do is try and find one at the junkyard Monday when I go try and get a balancer. I used a timing light and ran it from the coil's tach signal to ground and yea, the light would flash, go dim, flash, go bright, flash, go dim. Going dim is not good.
It's not the ignition module. Both that I have pass all tests I can do. I've been working that multimeter to death haha.
Oh, and let me state, my check engine light goes out while the truck is on. I have no codes still. Could that be a sign the PCM is acting up?
I went to work at 8am today but didn't have to clock in till 11am so I hauled *** to Pick-N-Pull.
Found an Econoline van with a 4.9L in it. Dizzy's hidden well under the doghouse and the van had failed inspection earlier this year in May for rusting floorboards. Grabbed the Dizzy w/ Module out of that for $44.
Worked, got home just now and threw the assembly in (can't get the module off easily so I left it on). TRUCK RUNS GREAT.
So, that was two remans from the parts store that were no good, and the very first dizzy they gave me had vacuum advance. Parts store FAIL, JUNKYARD WIN.
I'll drive it to work tomorrow and play with it when we're slow.
Ymeski, I bought a new IAC and new 02 sensor, they are already installed.
Your best bet, find a recently running vehicle that's at the junkyard, try and figure out why it's there, and I highly recommend vans since the dizzy is shielded from the weather better.
The only bad part about having the truck running, is I realize my selector valve is now leaking gas. Not nearly as bad as the one that came on my truck, so I'm gonna tighten that down tomorrow really good. If it leaks still I'll grab another from the junkyard Monday.
