Well I am diving into a custom project I think everyone will enjoy. I am going to restore a 1975 Ford F250 'Hi Boy'. But instead of the little 360 or 390 in it, I am going to put my 7.3 Powerstroke and Tranny in it (Thank God for divorced transfer cases). I plan on getting a special photobucket for this truck so I can share all the photos with you guys. This is a picture of it. Its a turd.
This will be interesting! How long do you figure this will take you? I am interested!
I will say though.. what do people do with their trucks out your way! LOL! That poor thing has seen some real better days! I wonder how the bed will go with your repair! I love the 70's models Ford trucks.
LMC and salvage yards are going to be your be your friend, right?
Frame is perfect it looks bent cause the front passanged fender is even attached in place correctly. Guys I got it off of had the trucks for parts and got rid of the other truck, so, yeah. But he is going to sell me a whole front end for it for 100 and I hope to buy it from him soon.

Yes LMC is going to be my new best buddy, along with ebay lol.
Its going to be a pavement pounder and maybe do a little sled pulling, but NO OFF ROADING. But I have thought it out, here is a list of what I plan on doing
Use 95 F250 bed to repair 75 F250 bed.
Take front end off
Lift cab up
Do repairs to Cab with it off the frame
Clean and paint frame, do some work to the brakes and suspension
Puts powerstroke and transmission in with no body on it
Do modifications for 4WD lever
Put cab back on and do modifications to make every thing work.
Thats the just of it, here are some more photos and I am in the process of figuring out the shaft fromt he tranny to the t-case and also want to figure out about modifying or doing something about the 4X4 lever. Also would it hurt if I tilted the engine back just a little?
Peaking under the dash reminds me of so many of them older models that people couldnt keep from pulling some wire down for what ever reason, then I bought them in that condition! Looks like those door sills are going to be your biggest issue! Keep us up to speed on that tear down!
Id say spray the whole truck down with rust eater but I dont think youd end up with much left if you did that. I had an old 77 stepside we layed a 460 cross bored into a 557stroker with lots of performance mods, used a 429 bellhousing, an np435 4spd, and a np205 transfer to drive it. lifted it 9" on the suspension and 3" on the body, added 40" swampers and a detroit locker to the rear and never found anything that would stop it,... except a gas station. (never figured out what was wrong with the gas gauge) lol. itll be fun (eventually).
Well I messed with cutting one side of the bed off. I am going to take the pannels off the other bed and then put the old sides on the newer inner bed from my 95, that way all I have to mess with is exterior. Also my new set of tail lights came today.
The bracket holding the T-Case I plan on making a heavier duty one out of square tubing.
