Well, title all squared up and I have used this ol dude several times. I have hauled several loads of brush off and it's presently full of scrap waiting to get hauled off one of these days.
Cool truck. What happened to the grill guard? Need it back on there.
I sold it. It was twisted pretty bad. It just wasn't my style sadly.
I actually drove it today to pick up some scrap from a buddy. Hopefully this week I'll go empty it. Then it's going to be at a buddies to clean out his shop for a bit. I need to get the heater going. I never connected it because it is full of mouse droppings. The truck I parted out had a nicer heater box tho. I need to meld the pair so I have some heat in the ol gal.
I sure do enjoy driving this thing.
I have a line on 2 nice used steer tires from a buddy so soon those and a new set of king pins will be in the works. Maybe next year I'll rebuild the trans
Poor ol np435 is in bad shape. Second gear is really bad. It's almost impossible to up or down shift even double clutching. Oh well, are they ever really done?
If you pull the trans out I would look for a 5 speed. It really makes a difference
I have been keeping an eye out but so far nada.
Honestly it does 40mph@ 2200 rpm. For around town it's not bad. With the stock suspension I don't want to drive much further anyway lol
Another thing you can do is keep your eyes open for some old military M35A2 “Deuce and a half” wheels. Direct bolt on, and are quite heavy duty. Also the right width for 9.00-20 tires.
I ran a couple of old dump trucks over the years, we ran deuce wheels on all of them.

If you’re already on 22.5’s you’re in better shape. I’m assuming radials of some flavor?
I’m sure they ride better than the old 900-20 tube type tires did.

The wheels/tires came off an old u haul truck of some kind. The tires are so terrible. One has a 4" x3" chunk missing at the edge on a steer tire. These tires are probably older than me.
