Anyone watching that gold rush series on discovery channel? I am recording the first three episodes now. I caught the first ten minutes and they are a group of guys from Oregon going to Alaska to prospect for gold. A lot of those guys are unemployed also. Looks interesting.

I've been watching it. Nice guys, but a bunch of idiots........I've been gold mining for 40+ years, and these guys don't have a clue. No need to go all the way to Alaska. There is TONS of gold right here in Oregon........
Kinda fun to watch, but these guys don't have a clue. If they keep going the way they are, someone's gonna get hurt or killed. This is one of the most unsafe operations I've ever seen.........

Good points Don, but the show probably sells better if it says ALASKA, Oregon doesn't sound as exciting... plus AK is probably pitching in money for the show to get more people to move up there (more tax money?)
And most people don't care if you are smart on tv, they just want entertainment. My wife gets mad at me becuase I complain that they didn't do something right, or they said the car had something that it didn't, etc.

Morning, 3" of new snow here in Prineville. Supose to go to Portland this morning, I think we will wait awile and see what it looks like.
Unemployment here in Crook County is at 18+%, there is a lot of poeple here been out of work for over 2 years, my wife has been with out a job for ove 1 year.
