Your current weather. . . .
The electricity never flickered. . . THANK YOU for UGF (Underground Feeders)!
The cable. . . that's another story. Deb and I were watching the news on Saturday morning, and lost the cable signal.
It finally came back on, around 6:45 p.m. this evening.
(I was starting to have 'withdrawal symptoms'.)
We got over 30" of snow!
I'll try to post up a couple of pics, later on.
Even with the new/bigger snowblower, it took me almost 3 hours to clear the driveway and part of the street, in front of the house.
I had parked my old '93 Lexus in front of the house on Friday afternoon.
I think it'll be June before I can drive it, again! There's literally a wall of snow 4' high beside/behind it!
The weatherman said that we're expecting another 5 to 7 inches of snow on Tuesday night, into Wednesday.
Oh well. . . spring is not too far away!!!!!
Hey Dave!!!!!!! You gotta be kidding me!!! Cutting grass in February!?!?!?!? I don't think we'll even SEE GRASS until June!
Thankfully Sunday, the snow melted off and now it's just soggy.

It's 22° as I write this, and the weatherman said that we're going to get another 12-20" of snow, this afternoon, into tomorrow!!!!!
What makes it worse. . . . I got up this morning at 0400, and it felt kinda chilly in the house.
Now, I don't like it cold, but, NOT hot either.
Something just didn't seem 'right'.
I went downstairs and checked the furnace. The thermostat was trying to bring the oil furnace 'online', but, it just 'clicked'.
The temp in the house was 58°!!!!!!! (My wife likes it to be 72°!)
So, I go down to the basement and when I hit the 'reset button', she came to life!
(The furnace did the same thing, on Friday night.)
So, here I am, waiting on 0700, so that I can call the furnace people to come and see what is malfunctioning.
Oh well. . . it's running for now, and I've got a fresh pot of coffee and the dog is laying at my feet.
If push comes to shove, I've got a stack of firewood, and I'll get a fire going in the woodstove.
Life ain't too bad. . . . .

I know what you mean about 'heater failure' Keith. About two weeks ago, on a cold, windy and rainy morning, my 2 year old heater woke me up trying to come on. Then it quit trying. I had to wait all day for the repair guy to come. My coat and nose mitten came in handy. (I like it at least 72 myself.) I'm just glad I wasn't living in your area. Brrrrrrr. Come to find out that the wind had rearranged the vent cap on the roof and rain drained into the heater. He worked a little magic on it and all was well. Keep warm.
The weatherman has changed his predictions, again. (Again!)
Instead of the 10-20/30" of snow, he's calling for 8-15" here.
The furnace technicians showed up yesterday, and 'nothing' seemed to be defective.
They replaced the filter and the 'nozzle', but, they couldn't really determine why the reset button was tripping.
Then, as one of the guys was re-installing the igniter (after adjusting it), he noticed (what he called) the "Cat Sensor" was blackened.
He explained that it is a photocell that 'sees' the ignition, and IF it doesn't detect a spark, it will 'trip' the reset to prevent fuel oil from 'pooling'.
He cleaned it, and the furnace has been working flawlessly, since.
As promised, here are some photos of our last weekend's snowstorm.
Saturday morning, early -

Saturday morning. I'm trying to clear a path so that I can see the 'side-shot' (furnace exhaust), standing on the deck, on the back of the house.

Saturday evening. Even "Russell" likes the snow -

Sunday morning, behind my house -

(The fence is 5' high, total with 1' lattice on top of the 4' fence.)
The dog and I ventured to the fence and measured 29-1/2" of snow!
Sunday morning, after clearing driveway -
The brunt of it is due from here on out through the rest of the day.
I'll probably go clear what we have to make the final cleanup easier later.
The "lump" that you see from the Saturday morning photo (on the left) is my old '93 Lexus. It will probably see sunlight in June or July.

"MY" Ranger (the vehicle that my youngest daughter has claimed as "Her's" is outside, and my wife's Chrysler Town & Country is outside.
So, because of the snowblower and associated stuff, only the little 'commuter car' (Scion xB) goes inside the garage, for now.
Today. . . . I drove the Ranger and Megan (my youngest daughter) will have to drive the Scion, IF she goes to work. (My wife and I commute together. She also works less than 15 feet away, in the same building!!!)
Sidenote: Washington, DC streets are in BAD shape, today! Several streets in downtown DC (read as MOST) have NOT even been touched by plows!!!!!!! Literally!!!! The street beside and behind my building has 15"-20" of snow on them.
Also, we got 16" of snow, total, on Tuesday night and Wednesday, at home.
