I drive for Carter Express.
I am the middle leg in a 3 legged run. When I get back my co-driver takes the truck to Seward NE and drop and hooks at the plant out there.
got laid off for about 6 weeks last Jan-feb when the auto industry was having major issue. the Day GM and Chrysler got the bailouts I got a call laying me off LOL.
but otherwise yeah been on this run for 6-1/2yrs and they are actually sending overflow trucks here just lately because they can't get it all on the 2 that do this daily. although I never count on that.
It's pretty gravy. I used to run 38 states coast to coast, then went to work for HyVee for 3yrs (got tired of being bounced into the warehouse and other BS) went back midwest regional until I got this gig. M-F (never see that at HyVee until you have 25+yrs in) every weekend and holiday off and the pay is decent although I haven't gotten a raise in almost 4yrs and took a 4% paycut for half of last year.
