what scares me is this is even in the chicago papers already... As Linda says, why is little ole Chariton making the chicago papers? Cause the anti gun crowd is already planning on using this one.

True enough Lisa but remember Chariton has a population of only 4100 people (entire county is only around 7500) vs how many in CR?

Yes, I have met you, but I wouldn't say nothing special...
I couldn't get pics of how far it throws, as it was dark, and the wife doesn't seem to want to wander out in the cold.. I run that tractor down the road open like that from my parent's place, about at least 1/2 mile to get here...

We have had 2 murders here at Marengo in the last year, and a 3rd was in CR by a guy I know from high school... The shooting a couple weeks ago where Chris Vogt (pronounced vot, not vog-t)shot his apparent ex girlfriend and brother, then himself, was a gear head with a more than a few screws loose. His sister was in my class. He has always been a hothead, and over the last several years just had become more uncorked... If we are lucky, counting cats and dogs, we might break 3000...

Oh, for the gun control crowd, one of the murder was blunt force, no firearms involved... 2 kids (the son and son's girlfriend) and the wife beat him to death. The mother-son are throwing the girlfriend under the bus...

So far the story locally is that the kid had gotten in trouble and gotten grounded so he shot his step dad, and tried to shoot his mother but missed and hit his sister instead.

He is 12 btw

More of a case for proper storage of the guns... but it depends if they came from his household or another. Have to wonder though about the influence of TV on these kids to even think of doing such a thing.
