I'm in a house now, taking care of it for an absentee owner. It used to be anold cottageon the lake outhere, but then the previous owner thought he was a "contractor/handyman" and did some weird renos to it - like adding a sunroom to the front of the house with no heat ducts leading to it, so he installed a gas stove/fireplace thing, that costs a fortune to run in the winter. And the french doors that lead to the room, don't fit together properly, I can fit my hand under them and between them, and they lead to the kitchen, so of course I have to keep the friggin gas heater going inthe room. Some people.
It's almost impossible to rent a place here if you have pets, and even then rent is around $3,000 a month, So I upgraded from my smaller 24ft bumper pull, to a 30ft 5th wheel with 2 big slideouts. Quite roomy and cozy for 1 person and a dog. Rental space for it was only $800 a month. Big difference.
I've been all over Oregon, last time was in 1990, when I took a 3 month vacation, travelling and camping all over Oregon and California. I really like Grant's Pass, Crater Lake,Yosemite (my favourite), Ave.of the Giants, and the Oregon Sand Dunes. You're really lucky to live there, Canada screwed up giving you guys Oregon. They should have given you Ontario, hahaha!
Man you sound like my type of gal. Opps I'm not single. Could get the Tiger Woods treatment if I had that notion.
My heart is taken.
I was meaning living in the country/wilds. Taking care and fixing your place. Ford trucks. and to top it all off one that loves my type of breed of dogs.
I have 2 heelers here. with some mix. The heeler is dominate.
Sadie the old girl has a bit of Shepard in her.
Foster has the long legs of a Border Collie.
If you look at my gallery of my econoline trucks There are a couple pics of them with the trucks. I think I even posted a gallery of them there.
To get to the gallery. Click my user name and it should pop up veiw gallery. Click that and then you veiw my trucks.
I live near Saskatoon. 20 miles out of the city.
There is a breeder of heelers near here and another in Melfort. But they are very picky of who gets them.
Yes I taught Foster hand signals and he is great with cattle drives. I also socialized him with people and other dogs when he was a pup to have him not be agressive.
Last winter he was a hero around here when my wife slipped on Ice Knocking herself out. He broke out of the house and stayed with her howling and keeping her warm. When she came too he helped her up the stairs into the house and stayed with her where she passed out again on the couch. Even though he is very loyal to me. He knew she part of his family. He got a steak and a roast that week.
Had him almost 7 years next march.
Heelers are few and far between. Lots of cross breeds. I see them on Kijiji though.
I hope you find one. They also hold the record for longest livng dogs. Record is 28 years.
Pretty freaky ride back home tonight, almost whiteout conditions.
Still something wrong with the electrical- back to the drawing board, or maybe Ishouldget out the snowboard, we've gotten about 5maybe 6 inches of snow since 3pm

Hi, guess you've been reading about my baby. He took on a black bear in our 2nd month of living up here, didn't make a sound just ripped the leash out of my hand and went ater him, circling it and nipping at the hind end, while leading him away from the trail we were on, I ran like a bat out of---- for the truck and when I got there Prince was running right behind me. He had never seen a bear before, but it didn't matter, instincts took over.
I've never known a more loyal or devoted breed of dog, and I've had lots of them. They say they will accept and protect family members, but are really only a "1 man dog", and I agree. My guys were Pb Heeler x Pb Border Collie, awesome mix.
I will check out your pictures, thanks.
I've heard there are more breeders of Heelers in Sask. than any where else in Canada. That's why I was asking!!!
[QUOTE=Fomoko1;8205219]2 for 1 trade......sure why not.
No whiteout conditions here, good winter driving conditions except for a slight bit of fog.[/QUOTE. Shovelled walk 3 times since I got home. Driveway tomorrow, supposed snow most of Sat. too! Adjusted "profile" but some things I just didn't know, oh well, guess I'll learn.
I didnt read all the posts, but did is your truck working ok now?
Living in a fifth wheel through the winter, that would be interesting all right, I would think it would be cold, but the way they make the newer ones im not sureprised that they can be warm!

Good morning,
Short summary: The neg cable was tightened on and I couldn't get it off so... also the fuse was pulled that's connected to the radio, domelight etc. Truck started easily Fri. morning, so thought I had it narrowed down to either the cable not on tight enough,or one of acc attached to the fuse.
Drove to town, and found problem still there! There is still a big draw on the battery, shows up when at red light (or any kind of stop), driving slow, etc. once you get it over 60kms/hr you can see the needle on the gauge rise up closer to the 18 mark. Truck did seem to idle slow, when I was stopped.
Did you do any of those tests I posted earlier? If you dont have a meter, another thing you can do is just leave the truck as is, and pull one fuse overnight,s ee what happens the next day. Of course you would have to start the truck the next day, and if the problem is still there, then you would have to put that fuse back in and try the next one the next day.
Also the gauges in our trucks arent that accurate. They are not the best things to rely on. I found that out with my oil pressure one, its designed to read in the normal range if its over something like 8 psi.
Have you replaced the ignition module. I wonder if it is failing. You can unbolt it off the fender and leave it plugged in, just wire it down so it does not fall out of the truck. If you have a parts source drive there. and take the module off. Unplug it and take it in. They usually have a equipment there to test it for your. It just takes them mintues. and it usually is a free service.
If your battery is out of the truck you can take it in to them also and they will load test it on the bench. Same with Alt. But that is a bit more to take off the truk.
Have you tried another battery in the truck that you could borrow from someone up there.?
I was going to do the tests on Thurs. but the cable got put back on so tight, I couldn't get it off, that's why it was left on over night. a neighbor had come by, and tapped the cable to the neg post checking for a spark, then would pull a fuse, and tap the cable to the post again. That's why the one fuse was left out, he said there was no spark. He's the one who put the cable on too tight for me to get it off. I was not impressed!!!
