ya I hear you. For me, it's boredom. Usually up around 5 or 5:30 as those were the hrs for work, so figure it's a good thing to stick with the same routine. Just wish thesun would get up that early too - it's still dark here!

Ya, me too. I'm originally from Vancouver, it might rain there, but at least you can still go outside and do stuff, rain never killed anyone. I don't have a workshop, or even a garage to go and tinker around in! I'm not a tv addict so winter really sucks for me!

What brought you from the lower mainlaind out to fort mac?

I live in the lower mainland for a year and hated it, I was out near harrison hot springs. I found the smog to be killer from the coast right to Hope.

I will try to keep this short, haha. Never cared for the city, every chance I got, I was gone up the mountain camping. Just me and the pup. Read an article about Oil & Gas Field Operator program in Ft.St.John, BC, applied and was accepted, but after graduating, no company would hire a female, so moved to Red Deer, looking for work in the same field. No luck, started working with road construction. Then early spring '05, we came up here for a contract job, and just as we were finishing, the paver caught fire, resulting in no work for the crew. There was lots of work here, so stayed put.

I have always been the outdoorsy type, enjoying nature and animals and such. The last 2 times I went home for a visit, I couldn't wait to get out of there. Too big, too crowded, toonoisy, too much concrete!

You sound like a prairie girl at heart for sure Laurie!

Im not much for the big city either, however, I do like living within a short distance of one. I find that the 15-30 minute drive (15 minutes to the close side, and 30 min drive to the far side) is actually nice, compared to driving through crappy traffic right through the city!

Isn't it kinda flat, with nothing to see for miles and miles and miles? My dad was born and raised in Assinaboia (spelling),and I had relatives in Outlook, Saskatoon, Swift Current, Meadow lake/Dorintosh and some other weird named places there.

Yeah some places are flat. Saskatoon is fairly flat, out where I live I live near the sask river, so there is lots of small rolling hills, stuff like that. Not everywhere is flat though.

I found I liked being able to see for miles and miles. There wasnt a big rock sitting in my view haha. Ive always kinda compared saskatchewan to living in a house, the more windows you can see out of the better. BC to me was like living with boards on all the windows. Nice place to visit though, as we will go back once a year and camp out at Harrison!

Not sure if you would call me a "prairie girl",as I like the mountains, and the ocean. I like theOkotoksarea, High River, Rocky Mountain House, and the BC Chilcolton area.

Maybe "farm girl" would be a better description?

It maybe flat there`s still lots to see and you don`t have to drive for hours up and down just to get around a big old silly mountain.

Sheldon, you lived in the wrong part of BC. Where I was living, Richmond, I could look out the window, and see the Pacific ocean, and far out in the distance, I could see Vancouver Island, out the other window, I could see Seymour Mtn, Grouse Mtn, and Cypress. The view always changed with the seasons.

Morris, you don't have to livein the mountains, just near enough to see them. There's nothing better than having your morning coffee and looking out the kitchen window towards the snow capped peaks. It's a beautiful view. Sure saves money on artwork!!!

Living near the mountains but not in them just might be ok if I could take my farm home along with me......
I`m sure the weather would agree with me more.
