Yeah, that look when you hand the clerk a C-Note on pump #3, she asks how much you want and you reply, "Let's see how close that gets us"

 

$2.85 a gallon, I have seen $2.65 a gallon some places.

 

This is why I don't pay with cash, it's depressing lol.

 

Back in 1980, one of the guys in the office bought a boat, moored at a Tampa marina, as his home. "Life on the water and never rent an apartment again" was his thinking.

The first time he went to purchase fuel, his smart-alec comment was, "Fill 'er up, or stop at $300 whichever comes first".

They stopped at $300. (Gas was about $1.25/gal back then.)

 

Yesterday I got 4250 gallons in my boat at 2.59 per gallon including tax and delivery by truck. Not to bad for 35 years apart.

 

You go to town to take your kids to swim lessons and you end up:
Going grocery shopping and getting half a dozen bags + a cooler full of stuff.
4 17" rims that you saw along the way
A twin size mattress
2 full 4x8 sheets of rigid foam insulation

And you never once pause and think - this isn't going to fit.

 

My wife added on to this list...although a bit tongue in cheek...

Lmao, I already had the wheel off to check the brake pads and when I was torquing the ubolt nuts I noticed a busted spring, rather then put the wheel back on and drive over to the shop and put it on the hoist to pull out the busted spring I made do with some redneck engineering so I could jack the spring pack off the axle. I may have been Egyptian in a former life
