No idea. Thing is, with a bumper as big as that, you can make other people use their trucks to carry your load for you. If they don't, it's a trip to the body shop. :P

I would love to put something like that on the ol' Kaiser-Detroit Diesel truck I want to build someday. Have those suckers front and rear....

I'd feel sorry for people in front of me at stop lights, lol. :P

speaking of bumpers.
I want one for my truck.

I'm sick and tired of people at the mall, and other parking lots for that, tapping into my tommy gate.

it's the only thing on my truck that I worry about when I park.

oh, other question.

I need to mount a switch somewhere for it, It has a standard gauge battery cable running from the front to the back, what kind of switch should I be looking for?

And lastly, painting over chrome.... any tips?

for a battery cable, it is pricey.
You need a solenoid for it. 4 wheel parts should have one meant for a winch.

Damn.
Talking about the Mall reminded me how much I hate other People messing with the lift on the back.
I've come out to people messing with it, who wouldn't believe it was my truck until I grabbed the bat out of the cab.
It's a tommy gate... if you want to see how it works, I will gladly demonstrate it.
DON'T MESS WITH IT! ESPECIALLY WHEN I HAVE A LOCK KEEPING YOU FROM LOWERING THE DAMN TAILGATE!!
(sorry, needed to rant.)

back to the cable.
How about wiring it into the ignition somehow...
Right now, it connects to the solenoid mounted on the inner fender, where can I put it so that it only gets power when the truck is running?

yes, but you would need the winch switch/solenoid and you would need to do wiring.
wow, people mess with it? why? I would pull a shot gun from behind my seat if somebody messed with my truck like that.

Oh god yes. It seems that little high schoolers thing it's fun to mess with a truck (which they can't see over)

I keep a bat in my truck. and a 4 way. and some knifes. and some lighters, and maybe a pack of cigarettes for when I get stuck in traffic and wanna experiment with where the gas fumes are coming form (lol, im serious about that), for those kind of situations though.

I put a pad lock on thinking that would solve the problem, nope, makes it worse.

Oh, and about the keying. Yes, someone keyed the damn thing.
I don't understand why... that thing has more scratches than a damn scratching post.
But I know what was there the night before, and what wasn't (yay for photographic memory)

THey did get my Dad's benz though... That was upsetting

well what do you do with a lift gate.
lift stuff.

Before I had the lock, they would pile as many of themselves on it as possible, and then try to lift themselves.

Now that it is locked, they try lifting it to the point of destruction.

There is no fail switch in there, or anything to disengage the motor.
It just keeps trying to do it's job, even thought the piston is at it's end.
