WOW! How could you sell your X! Good to see you're keeping in the Ford family. Ya gotta keep the pics coming for us still stuck down here in the lower 48! I'll be looking for ya in the Explorer forums!
oh no! haha... good luck with your new purchase. And, if you start a thread over in the explorer forum with pics of the beautiful scenery, please post up a link in this thread so I'll know to go subscribe to the new one.

i know guys i know...i still have it untill monday and idk what i'm going to do when it drives away i get a huge emotional attachment to trucks. but this was the best thing.
but the story behind it you may agree it was well worth it. the lady totaled her '04 about 2 weeks ago. shes been looking and looking and was almost to the point of buying a chevy even though she hated them. she put up a wanted add on CL and i just asked if she would be interested. she about died when she saw/drove my excursion. she said every other one they have driven has been beat to crap and not in real good shape.
she has 5 kids and needs the seats and really has much more use for the truck then i do at the age of 21 other then fulfilling my dream of owning one.
part of what made me do this and i prolly will regret it honestly but. work has been SLOW! like i got 1 day in last week. i was allready pretty much paycheck to paycheck as it was and could not save. i've been floating by doing side work but its not the best situation.
so with this deal i get a very nice explorer which i have to admit i'm a explorer guy at heart anyhow. then about $7000 in my pocket for whatever may come up which makes me feel alot safer just knowing i have it.
also i pulled my SCT tuner from the truck and it will be going on the explorer almost instantly
Sorry to hear you are selling it! I've only had mine two weeks and am attached to it...lol. I understand about feeling safer now with a little cash in the pocket. Maybe you'll get another one day.
Yes please keep us posted on whether you take any more pics. The scenery is beautiful!
i shed more then a few tears...but she went to a good home and i was told to come take her for a spin anytime i would like...they are great people. the new owners w/5 kids(not pictured)

well i made a trip out to Wasilla, AK where the new owners live. i was out in a town close to them and they had said they knew visitation rights came with the sale so come on by! so i spent over 2 hours hanging out out there..spent some time in the excursion...felt so terrible leaving the driveway without it but they will take good care of it i know it..an we have really become good friends since the sale which is nice. she even said once they get her old one back on the road she may be able to sell me her back..we'll see how that goes but i still enjoyed seeing her.
also heres the vids from the day before the sale and the day of the sale.
that things gonna get trashed in wasilla. man i think you made a big mistake selling it for that explorer! its your choice tho so i gotta respect that even if i dont agree with it.
well, i prolly could have made it work without selling it. but it would have been hard. in the last few months work has been slow i havent had many hours. i was living paycheck to paycheck with no savings. by selling the excursion it allowed me to be able to travel more(less gas money) put $4k in the bank and paid down some debts i owed to family and paid cash for a very nice low mile one owner truck. it was a smart move for this point in time. i dont think i'll ever have this truck back...hopfully i can find a nice '03-05 limited somtime in the future when things are better. i did not want to do it but it kinda had to be done ya know?
but i'm an explorer guy at heart, we have 7-8 of them now i love the little things...just miss my big beast!
yes i sold it with my viper remote start/alarm installed in it. i'll have one put in my new truck also but the newer version of the viper. i didnt do the install but im pretty sure it was hardwired.
